Is Haslem isn't suspended, I hope Larry Bird's words light a fire under the Pacers so that someone steps up to be a man and hits Wade with a retaliation dirty foul.

I think that's why Larry Bird said it. He effectively put the ball in the league's hands and created a situation where either they eat crap today (by likely suspending Haslem and Pittman, also maybe Hansbrough), or they eat crap Thursday (when Indiana, with everything on the line, just gets some good ol fashioned street justice).

If the league shows weakness, we as fans should come down hard on Indiana in the courtroom of public opinion and view them as irreparably soft if they fail to posse up and get some of that street justice.

These posters should be everywhere. EVERYWHERE!

Sometimes it hurts to take the high road but in the long run it's the best way. To Miami, a choking gesture calls for an elbow to the throat. If they follow their logic whatever they can do in retaliation will be ugly and not worth it.

i've had about all I can take of the CHeat and the refs in general.  I dont even want to watch games anymore becasue I already know the outcome, becasue the refs will slant it their way and that weasly little mole turd David stern will do nothing about it.  Agreed, Stern needs some Godell balls.  I wanna see the best and most enterinaing teams out there too but not at the expense of peoples health and the integrity of the game.  Would love to see one of these players or refs get the ol Nancy Kerrigan treatment.  It's sad, but that's about the level it needs to be dealt with for somethng to be done becasue of the incompetence of this league. pitiful/

I'm not even in favor of giving suspensions or throwing guys out of games unless it is very very egregious.

But the fact is that other teams, including the Celtics do not get away with stuff like this. And it's not fair that it is almost GUARANTEED that if the pacers do anything like this in the next game they will be thrown out/suspended and screwed over.

It's just ridiculous that Pierce and Perkins can get thrown out of games for getting 2 tech's (2 stupid techs to begin with) and yet these guys can get away with almost everything.

Agreed.  And honestly, Shame on Larry Bird for calling his team soft after that game.  I mean either he's trying to motivate them or he wants them to have the same thug mentality.  Eihter way, It was done in poor tasste when the correct response would be to support your team rather than throw them under the bus.  Maybe he shoulda said..The heat pushed us around, but we're gonna push back.  Strike a little concern in the heat instead of unndercutting your team.

Soft wasn't just how they responded to Miami's play in a physical sense but also mentally.

They were hesistant about moving the ball and didn't execute well on the offensive end. Ugly basketball produced a lot of easy points for the Heat.

Maybe. But this is a case where I don't see the Heat getting any message. The best revenge for Indiana is to win the series. Because you just know they will be the losers if they retaliate in any other way. The league will crack down on any Pacer who puts a toe over the line while the Heat skip on merrily into the ECF to commit some more egregious flagrant fouls and injure a few more unsuspecting players.

That is my issue. My thing is if you're gonna call a flagrant foul and suspend players then do it for all of them and keep it consistent. I wouldn't be as mad if they were called equally and consistently for all teams. DWade has gotten away with murder so many times that it's not even funny and the NBA has coddled the Heat to the point where it's sad and pathetic.
 I bet they won't  suspend Haslem and will give Pittman a short suspension for what he did (He was wrong for that no matter what Stephenson did on the bench. No one deserves to get hit in the neck to the point where they can get seriously injured because they made a gesture that many didn't see until ESPN brought it up)

So Pittman gets a 3 game suspension and Haslem gets 1. Hansbrough gets upgraded to a flagrant 2 and no suspension. Justice is kinda served. Now we can get back to basketball. And maybe the league and the refs keep a critical eye on the Heat's antics going forward. Oh who am I kidding?
