Only twice since the Celtics 1986 World Championship have the C's played in a succeeding round of the playoffs after the Lakers had been eliminated.

That's right, in 25 seasons (not counting the championship season in '07-08 since the Lakers were eliminated in the last game of the year), the C's have only twice been in a round of the playoffs without the Lakers still breathing in the West.  Those 2 seasons were 1992 (Lakers eliminated in round 1; C's in round 2) and in 2005 (Lakers didn't make the playoffs; C's eliminated in round 1).

At the risk of jinxing this, I am putting this out there in eager anticipation of that simple, yet elusive, pleasure of rooting for the C's while not worrying about the demon lurking in the West.

At the same time, since around 50 years, there has always been either one of Lakers, Celtics or Bulls in the NBA finals on leap years! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nba_champions

Let's hope this can continue  :D

The Celtics are undefeated in the Finals, when the Lakers lose in the conference semi-finals! 3-0 baby!

Over the last 5 years, every time a school that starts with the letter "K" wins the NCAA tournament, the Celtics win a championship!

Every season that a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare title has been released, the Celtics have made the Finals.  Every. Time.

The last time Dark Knight was #1 in the box office, the Celtics had just won a championship.  Well I think it's pretty safe to assume Dark Knight Rises will be #1, so does that mean the Celtics will have won a championship?  Keeping my fingers crossed.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
