Boston starting to get "into" Philly

The playoffs are all about match ups. I think that both Atlanta and Philly are just problematic match ups for us because they are young, athletic, run and gun teams. Since KG and Ray got here, this team has always struggled with these types of teams.

This being said, if you look at the trends in this series, it appears that Boston is starting to get "into" Philly - figuring out how to beat them.

Game 3: Boston blows them out by 20+ points
Game 4: up by 18 in the second half before giving it away...
Game 5: Boston blows them out again by nearly 20...

The two games Philly won?
Game 2: By 1 point
Game 4: It was a one point game with 2-3 minutes to go...

While it's a 3-2 series, Boston has dominated three of the five games.

I'd really like to see us go down and close it out tomorrow night and get some much needed rest. I hope Boston comes out  with a game 7 "must win" mind set and closes. Then I'd like to see the Miami / Indy series go 7.

I think it is critical that they play with a must win attitude in Philly and not let this get to a game 7. I agree about the games Philly has won and that is exactly what makes this an even more frustrating series.

Game 2 I like to think was a Lavoy Allen miracle shot difference between winning and losing.

Game 5 was closer than you make it seem.  It was a back and forth game for the first 3 quarters.

The Celtics rarely can blow a team out from start to finish. They haven't been able to do that much since 2008.

I like to think of them as a rising tide. They gain ground, they lose ground, and then eventually reach the high tide mark knocking down all obstacles. Its hard for any team in the NBA to hold their ground against Boston's team offense and team defense. They just keep grinding and wearing you down. Sometimes they lose, most of the time they win.

The Sixers have demonstrated that they can be rattled big time. Lets see how mentally tough they are in game 6, in an elimination game. I think the Celtics have their number. Just keep grinding and wearing them down. Eventually Philly will break again.

I really hope they see it this way. Nothing would be better for us to finish it up and then have to wait (rest) while hopefully Miami and Indiana beat each other to a pulp over the course of 7 games.

That's a big carrot to put in front of this team if they want to maximize their chances to making it to the Finals. And one they would be best served not to ignore.

So was Game 3 for the first half, we only really pulled away in the third.

So far the series has been three close games with 2 mins to go and two blow outs by the third quarter. Sadly a great first half to game 4 was wasted....

Well winning Wednesday doesn't give them more rest unless Pacers/Heat goes 7. If that series ends in 6 we play Saturday no matter what happens in game 6.

ECF is locked in as a game with one off day inbetween the whole way.

I would like to see the Celtics finish off a series on the road. Detroit and NY are the only 2 that come to mind in the Big 3 Era.  But, the Celtics have yet to play a title contender yet in the playoffs.  If you can't finish off Philly on the road, how are you gonna beat win a game 7 in Indy or Miami much less OKC or SA?

The C's will play Saturday in game 7 of the semis or game 1 of ECF if they win and Pacers/Heat goes 6. If the Heat Pacers goes 7 then the ECF starts Monday. So four days off is the best case scenario.

After game 1 its every other day for the ECF the whole way.
