Asked about the call and the spark it seemed to provide the fans as well as the Celtics, Garnett said, "Man, we're sparked. This [dang] crowd here sparks you. It doesn't take much here, man.

"I have no idea what you're talking about, to be honest. But when speaking about this crowd, it's like plugging in, man. You're enthused for 48 minutes on, from tip on. So I can't see the difference between minute from minute. I feel like every minute I look up I see my family, I see people yelling, I see the drunk fat guy. I can't decipher. I'm telling you, I can't decipher one from the other. This crowd is ridiculous. I love it."

The call came during the third quarter of the Celtics' 101-85 triumph over the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 5 of their Eastern Conference semifinals series Monday night.

Asked what the feeling is like when the crowd is really getting into it, Garnett said, "It's like taking a cold shower, stepping into a freezer that's 60 below. I wouldn't recommend it, but if you want the feeling, try it out, come back, let me know."

Later, Garnett was asked about comparing the crowds in Boston and Philadelphia.

"Not even close. Not even close," Garnett said. "You've got fans and then you've got fairweather fans. Take it how you want it."

First let me say I have no freaking clue what KG is talking about for the majority of that little interview right there. Playing in front of the Boston crowd is like taking a cold shower, then jumping into a 60-below freezer? Is he talking about below freezing or below 0 degrees Fahrenheit? Who is the fat drunk guy? Can he see me though the TV? There are just so many questions...

But secondly, Kevin Garnett just called the Philadelphia fans 'fairweather'. Wednesday will be interesting, cuz they are not 'fairweather'. I'd use words like 'passionately hateful', 'bi-polar', 'violent', or 'homicidal' to describe Philly fans, but not ever 'fairweather'.

KG will use the Philly's booing to pump him up. That is the kind of thing that gets KG going.

How is he gonna use the dead batteries thrown at him?

LOL...like NoraG1 stated, KG is just drawing the attention to himself, and he will then use those probable boos to further fuel his fire.

All the while, Bass will continue to carve up PHI's interior, perhaps Ray can get some clean looks, and hopefully we'll have AB back by then.

KG is, IMO, being a leader here. Would I stir up a crowd like that? Nope. But I ain't KG, either.

The mold was certainly broken when he was born. There will NEVER be another like him, and that is sad.

Sixer fans are fair weather fans.  They're 13th in attendance this year, after a hot start.  The two previous years, when they weren't as good, they were 25th and 26th.

When the Celtics sucked the years before KG, they were mid-pack in attendance. NBA players no better than anyone about the quality of team's fan base at the different arenas. I love that KG wants to play heel here.  I just hope that some of his more callow teammates respond to a hostile crowd as well as he does,

Well chris Webber said that Igloudala plays better away from home because he doesn't get booed as much. If that's not fairweather its something.

But Webber was also saying that Philly should be letting Bass take those 10-15 footers cause he's a big and not comfortable shooting those.

So maybe he's just talking out of his butt

Beyond last night when he was hitting and early in Game 4 he was right though, Bass kept taking and missing those same shots. I think Webber was thinking more about the series rather than the season.

I'm thinking KG should come out of the tunnel dressed like santa.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

Maybe. I thought I remembered him saying similar stuff earlier in the series as well

Kevin knows this is an emotional series and is beginning to live out the bitter nature of this rivalry. The biggest lesson to be learned here is....

KEEP YOUR POISE

The Celtics frankly lost their poise in Game 4 last Friday in the 2nd half and missed their chance to be sitting in the clubhouse waiting (and scouting) on My Hammy and Hoosier Daddy to finish their series.

We hope this does not come back to bite us.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

As someone who has been living in Philadelphia for the last 3 years, I can vouch for the fact that the fans are RIDICULOUSLY fairweather, and most of them won't even attempt to deny it. I've confirmed this via numerous conversations with both friends and total strangers.

Essentially, Philly fans just ride the hot hand of whatever team is good, and when they're bad, they forget that the team exists.

After insulting the Philadelphia crowd, KG better bring it big time. Show that he can still walk his talk. I think he will.

I do respect Philly for their love of the Eagles.  It is one of the best NFL fanbase in the sport.

However when it comes to hockey, basketball or baseball- it's all dependent on the team's success.  I've got a friend from Philly who will finally pipe up about those three teams only in the postseason.  You better believe he was all over facebook after Philly's Game 4 win.

This.  Eagles fans are like crack addicted, fat wolverines (I am one, by the way).  The rest of the teams enjoy moderate (Phillies) to no support.
