  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
After reading all this and watching clips on him I am on the bandwagon. Give me two out of Waiters, Ross, Nicholson, White, Leonard, Melo, Harkless and Miller.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

If Bass wants to re-sign for a reasonable price, or accept his 4 million option, it could complicate the case for Nicholson, especially since Jeff Green and Garnett can play the 4. Plus JJJ, if he's even worth keeping.

Nicholson is not quite the athlete Bass is, but he's smarter, more polished offensively, and has a higher upside.

I'm wondering if Nicholson could guard Carmelo and Artest at the 3 as well. Not sure. But Nicholson's handle seems pretty good and will only get better.

Quote
Chad Ford, apparently well informed, and having watched Nicholson work out yesterday:

I'm sold on Andrew Nicholson being a solid rotation player. Where's the earliest you could see him going? Latest? Good fit?

Me too. Maybe even a little better than that. There's some David West there ... I think he could go as high as Philly at 15. Maybe even Suns at 13. Don't think he gets past the Celtics at 21 or 22.

Nicholson reminds me of Sheed, just in that he is content to shoot threes even with his superior size.

Well he did take a little under two a game his senior year, which isn't an absurd amount but he did shoot 57% from the field, too. If Sheed ever did that he'd be a first ballot hall of famer.

As it is, Sheed was a 4-time All-Star.

Nicholson reminds me of a 36 year old Kevin Durant.

I just watched some of the combine.

Nicholson made most of his shots but he is very slight compared to even Terrence Jones.

I've been among the biggest Nicholson homers here, but his role will be very finesse oriented in the NBA, and he might only be a 6th man in the NBA.

Good scorer, but defensively average or a liability.

I'm in pain, lol.

His footwork looks really nice. He's also supposed to be smart. I like that.
Celtics fan for life.

I'm not watching the combines so I don't know if he slimmed down but Jones is a 6'8 tank. Comparing Nicholson to him is a bit unfair.

Yeah, Nicholson was doing drills with Jones and White. Bound to make him look bad physically.

I just don't see Nicholson successfully getting position down low and backing guys down to utilize his post skills.

If Jones is a tank, White is way bigger. White may not be able to shoot, but he can handle the ball and back anybody down with his awesome strength and pretty good quickness. You don't need to be a good shooter to make 3 footers all day.

Nicholson has very narrow shoulders, so I know he'll put on weight, but not a whole lot.

White, Jones, and Nicholson are all gamers in the post-season though, and being able to stretch the floor like Nicholson has definite value. I think he'll be a lights out set shooter, and as good as Ryan Anderson overall.

White could be a star, and it's easier to improve shooting than to gain broad shoulders, hips, and strength.
