Wouldn't mind picking up this kid at all. He has great footwork and can stretch it out to 3 point range (43% on almost 2 attempts a game last year, also a 77% ft shooter) . There is a good chance Bass opts out this year, or he will be a free agent the following year looking for a decent pay day. It would be great to pick up a big that can do what Bass does , but with longer range and can also go down low and give us a back to the basket presence who we can throw the ball down to and let him go one on one .

Let Nicholson battle with JJJ for future backup PF. Nicholson already has about 15 lbs on JJJ and can probably get up to around the 250 range which is fine for a PF.

Not a bad sign, the kid is definitely interested in the Celtics.

Could they trade Bynum to the Nets for Gerald Wallace and Lopez + filler?

Kobe/Gasol/Wallace with Lopez inside gives them a solid chance to win for 2-3 years.  Bynum seems too difficult to deal with to bank your future on him anyway.

Mods, my bad.  I had two windows open and meant to post this in the Gasol thread.  Sorry....

Canadian Nicholson, Baylor's Jones III, Miller, Among Draft Prospects Who Could See Their Stock Rise During Workouts
Quote
For Nicholson, a comparison to David West was even made:

"I don't think people realize how skilled he really is," one GM said. "I keep hearing my scouts say he's kind of like David West. Well, if he is David West, he should be 15 spots higher on our board. The more I've watched him on film, the more I think we may be missing on him. Skilled power forwards like West are hard to come by."

Raptors fans were likely hoping Nicholson slipped into the early second round so Toronto would have a shot at him, but I'm guessing by the time draft day rolls around, some team will snatch him up before the first round comes to a conclusion.

Weeks ago the legendary Bob Ryan was gushing over him. Watched Ryan on TV saying he was keeping his fingers crossed that he would be there when the C's were picking.

Jones the III seemed to choke in games against elite talent.  His workouts better impress because his play sure as heck did not.  Danny is going to get some guys who can play I would wager as this is a deep draft.

Kid looks decent but I'm hoping Ainge might be blowing smoke so team picking mid 1st might reach for him... then Celtics get somebody to fall.

But even if that doesn't happen and BOS ends up with him it still would look like a nice pick.

Here's some highlights from Nicholson's A-10 Championship game and NCAA Tourney game against Florida State:

I like the idea of drafting Wroten and Nicholson. Rondo and Wroten should be really good at drawing double teams and hitting KG, Nicholson, and an aging Pierce in position where they can knock down jumpers.
Nicholson has soft hands and a high IQ, so I expect him to thrive playing with good passers.

Here's the Nicholson video we've been waiting for! Looks like he has the heart of a Celtics, and the clutch play of a ... Celtic!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAQ9ZqcYFKI

Chad Ford said he was torching the nets along with Brad Beal in a Bulls workout yesterday.

I think Nicholson, in his 6th year of basketball, is showing that he's got some Durant to his game.

Go Celtics.
