everyone needs to chill out.  Earlier this season you'd have to be certifiable to consider the Celtics a contender.  With the way JO was playing and the team was racking up the losses ... I figured we were a lotto team or swept in the first round by Miami or Chicago.

KG completely turned this team around by switching to center.  The superstar was already past his prime by the time he got to Boston, but this is the best he's ever played wearing a Celtic jersey.  His movement is fantastic and the guy looks youthful out there.  We're still very undersized and obviously dealing with a ton of injuries right now.  I'm proud we even got this far.  We caught a MAJOR lucky break by missing Chicago in this series.  Now it seems if we can knock out Philly (a team that proved they could beat us in the regular season) we could catch another major lucky break in the next round.  Everyone needs to quit crying and just enjoy the ride.  If we lose to Philly... so be it.  Not all that shocking, really.  But we have a shot at actually making the finals (where we will most likely get owned) and that's nothing short of incredible considering our health.

I guess I've been certifiable since the beginning of the season then.

I don't think it was so crazy to recognize that Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce were still pretty darned good basketball players even when they were struggling at the start of the season, though.

Not enjoying it but whatever.

At th beginning of the season I predicted 2nd round exit, and this team has not yet proven they are any better than that.  They will most likely win this series bu it"s going to take 7 games.  They will then likely lose in ECF.  Overall that would be exceeding my expectations for the year, but many of us will not be happy with anything less than a ring.

Pretty much this.

This team so far has proven that they are too mentally weak to beat opponents when they are down, they arent contenders.

Disagree.  I think this team is a legit contender . . . if we can get by Philly.

What else would you expect on an internet forum...cooler heads don't prevail here.

The BEST the Sixers can do is beat the Celtics by a couple points.  Boston has let 2 games slip away, not to discredit the Sixers, but they did let them slip.

Boston is the better team.  They will win this series.

You're a soothsayer.  Congrats.  Even Danny Ainge acknowledged the team was no longer a contender.  If you foresaw JO going down with a season ending injury, KG suddenly moving better than he has in 5 seasons and transforming this team at Center, Avery Bradley fulfilling his destiny as poor man's mini Tony Allen, Rose going down with a season ending injury/Noah getting hurt and making our path to the ECF actually thinkable... well then... i tip my hat to you.

A lot of stuff had to go wrong for us to suddenly fall into this unexpected lineup.   A lot of stuff had to go right for us to be in position to actually make noise.  None of that was really foreseeable unless you have a tendency to say sooths.

I knew that Kevin Garnett could still play at a high level, knew that Paul Pierce could, and I knew that Rajon Rondo was a top player at his position in the league.  I knew that when you have that level of talent at the top of your line up, you are never out of it, even if you do get off to a slow start.

I'm no sooth sayer.  I'm just someone who pays attention and doesn't get all caught up in the hype.
