Yes, the Celtics threw this game away, but sometimes you know what just happens, and there's nothing you can do about it.

If the Celtics are the better of the two teams, they will win the series. If they lose the series, then they weren't the better team, and there's no shame in that.

The Celtics will come into game 5 and take care of business. It's the first team to win 2 games. If we can't do that, then we aren't the better team, and don't deserve to advance. Yes, a 3-1 would have been nice, but we can't have all that we want.

Even injured and playing hurt the C's are the better team.

The only way they win the series is if they PLAY as the better team.

So far the C's haven't been playing with the proper intensity or sense of urgency except for Game 3.

This team can't let their foot off the gas pedal when they get the lead or they will just lose it. Early leads in the NBA mean very little.

You have to keep playing the entire game.

Hopefully you're correct. Judging by the last 3 out of 4 games, the next game can go either way as this team's performance vascillates between great to mediocre.

Cant help it. This one was in the bag but Doc pulled a monkey wrench (Bill Simmons term). The fact that the series could be over by 5 was gone and Philly gaining much more confidence is enough, for me at least and for somebody else to over react.

This was a win. Bad coaching tonight now puts us in a spot where WE NEED to win game 5 Against a fires up squad instead of looking to close a series against what could be a dead end team.

Celtics have only played two good games in these playoffs.

The rest they have played horrible but somehow won.

We wont beat the Sixers if its a dogfight every game, they are the younger, quicker dog, and will beat us everytime.

Well, this is what the playoffs are all about. First team to win 4 games. I don't see the 76ers winning 4 games before the Celtics do. Especially when we all know the Celtics are the better team. Yes, they can be frustrating at times, but since when is a loss not frustrating? All losses are frustrating.

If at the end of the day the Celtics go on to win the championship, will anyone really care that it took us 6 games to get rid of the Hawks, or 6 or potentially 7 games to take care of the 76ers? The ultimate prize is the championship, and the Celtics just need to get locked in and take care of business. This terrible thing that we do when the Celtics lose, looking for people to blame, getting on Doc Rivers. Saying how terrible this or that person is. None of it helps.

I don't know where this team will end up.  I don't even know if we'll get past the Sixers, but I do remember many similar posts about how gutless and mentally weak this team was back in '08 when we struggled in the first two rounds against the Hawks and the Cavs.

I mean it was just angry, emotional, nasty stuff . . . kinda like the stuff I'm reading tonight.

I still believe in this team.  I do think ultimately that we are better than the Sixers.  Just get to the next round by hook or by crook.  This is a funny team, and they can find a rhythm and ride it.  Hopefully, they do so before it's too late.

They'll probably still win this series. But I don't care. I want championships. As a  Celtics fan I personally think that rings are the only thing that matter. We're not the Kings or Clippers. We're the Boston Celtics. It's banners or nothing. Anything less is a failure.

Playing the way they did tonight makes me question if they can do that this year. They can get out of the east because the Bulls and Heat got hurt. But the Spurs or OKC will drag them in 5-6 if they don't "turn it on" very soon.

I can stand a loss if the other team is better. I can't take a loss when it was the better team handing it over with a big darn bow on top.

The Sixers are legit.  This was a good win for them.  Let's get them back in Boston and move on from there.

You want to know what two teams scared me before the playoffs even started? It wasn't the Bulls or Heat. It was the Sixers and Pacers.

Why? If we lost to the Bulls or Heat it wouldn't be as big of a deal. Everyone outside of this site would make that pick. It would stink but I couldn't say it wasn't logical.

But go down to the Pacers or Sixers would make us look like jokes. And I never thought the sixes were really an 8th seed team. I looked at them more like a strong 6-7 that had a bad run at the end of the year.

And I'm not sold that we can knock off the Pacers if that turns out to be a future matchup. I think the Pacers are one of the best "teams" in the east.

I agree about the Pacers.  I'd have to put them at least as a top four team in the East.  I still think we can beat anyone in the league when we are playing right.

Let's start with these pesky Sixers.

the celtics are a better team the sixers no doubt..

the problem is, I havent seen a sense of urgency from this celtics team against the sixers...other than game 3

the worst thing that could happen to this team was playing a lower seed. we know how this team seems to lose to the bottom-feeders because they play down to them.

now, with their backs against the wall again watch the celtics take the next 2 games convincingly...its frustrating but its just what this team does. they did it against the Hawks last round as well and then closed them out in 6

why shouldnt we worry? we have a nonexistant bench (including ray)...

thats a huge problem. I dont blame the starters (though KG was off). I blame the fact that we're basically using 5 players a game. We wont win 18 with this...

its about effort. when the team is driving to the basket and kicking out and fighting for balls they are one of the best in the NBA.

when Rondo/pierce are walking the ball up court and settling for jumpers, we are horrid.

the good thing is, I think the celtics finally realised they cant let this team hang around because they arent just going to lie down.
