They just said on sportscenter that the heat canceled practice and media interviews today. They should have signed Iverson....

Oh by the way they said Chalmers fell and hurt his wrist at the end of game 3 and will be reevaluated again tomorrow before game 4

Wow, what a downward spiral this is seeming to be...

If they were without Chalmers, D-Wade would have to step up his game and become the new 2nd option on offense next game!

They are so ridiculously overdramatic sometimes.

Making it seem like the biggest deal in the world that they could possibly be down 2-1.

I don't care about the cancelling of practice but not doing the media stuff is a little pathetic.

Am I really supposed to believe that this Heat team is so angry about the game last night and so focused for game four that they can't meet the media for an hour?

Ummm, is this that abnormal?  They probably decided the players needed the time off to refocus.  This happens every once in a while, and is nothing new.  I know Doc has done it before.

It's probably more their attempt to avoid the Spoelstra vs D-Wade spat conversation and the inevitable tears on both of their crybaby faces when it's done.

Not only that but if physically the team is tired as well as mentally a day off can be a good thing.

A lot of teams skip their media obligations?

Is this allowed,  do they get fined for this?

Keep in mind its one hour, I know the Heat are pretty mentally weak but that's not something crazy

I don't know if they actually have media obligations.  This isn't the finals.  Teams just open up to the media at practices.  If they cancel practice, then media obligations go with it.

Only reason I thought that is that the Celtics didn't have practice the other day but still had the media whatever you want to call it for an hour. Unless the Celtics are just very amicable with things like that I assumed it was required

Yeah, definitely.  I believe the celtics skipped practice yesterday too actually.

I have a feeling that this has more to it than just being tired physically.  I think its a combination of getting Chalmers, Wade, and the rest of the team rest along with Spoelstra worried about the overall psyche of the team.  This team has enough skill and confidence to go in and win game 4 provided they are healthy enough to do so (which cancelling practice helps).  I think Spoelstra is very worried about what a bad practice could do to this team.  Things seem to be a little edgy inside that team (Wade/Spoelstra particularly) and if the lid flies off in practice, then I'd give the Heat little to no chance of winning game 4.

I don't think they are doing this for the purpose of rest. This a team that has cried after losing in the reg season after all.

Now is the time they should be running sets with different guys and working on execution. If they need a mental break after going down 2-1 in the second round no less, they are in a lot more trouble than we thought.
Back to wanting Joe fired.
