So many people say Bosh is the weak link of the Heat.  He is the player they could afford to lose the most.  That he is just a good player, not a star.

He has been a victim of being on the same team as two of the top scorer in the league.  He has taken a lesser role with out complaining.

Funny thing about Bosh and Miami, he is third in terms of talent, but probably number one in terms of effect on the team when he is removed.

Bosh and James compliment each other.

Bosh and Wade compliment each other.

James and Wade do not.  They need Bosh to be the inside presence.  They need him to be the pick and roll partner.

If Miami loses to the Pacers, does Bosh gain respect from the fans and media after seeing the lack of Bosh effect.

losing Lebron for any extended amount of time would be the biggest loss, I think that should be a given.
I think this speaks more to the GM and the depth and toughness of their bigs, it doesnt make me change my opinion on Bosh...Imagine the heat with a 35 year old Kevin Garnett instead

Part of the problem with Bosh , is his contract , he is way over paid for a borderline superstar. Three very good players could be had for his contract.  But he is the only decent big they have , so the HEAT is stuck with him big contract and all.

The new cap limits are not kind to the HEAT .  They built TOO top heavy.

Bosh is going to stay bad contract and all they need him.....WADE is the odd man out.....who wants to coach WADE and deal with his mental issues.  PLEASE NOT BOSTON.!!

SEND WADE to LA to play with KOBE ;D...   That would be fun !

Actually I think Bosh compliments Lebron very well.  And with Lebron > Wade, it leaves Wade as the odd man out.  In fact the Heat have done much better w/o Wade in the lineup than with him, and its mostly because Wade is redundant offensively to Lebron on offense, and can be a liability on the defensive end.

I agree.  Next year if Miami was able to move Wade for say, Howard (speculation on my part of a quality center Miami needs), and then they're able to sign Ray for the MLE to be the outside shooter they need, they've just locked in a very complimentary set of starters (until Ray retires and they get a different SG) that would have to be the top contender.

This is all true. The problem is, the talent pool on the Heat right now is so shallow that taking a single piece out leads to ... well, to what you're seeing.

With Haslem having a career-worst season, Chris Bosh was Miami's only quality big man.

They have excellent depth on the wing (with Battier, Miller and Jones) but their big man corps (Haslem, Anthony, Turiaf) outside of Bosh have been too weak. Left them overly exposed to any Bosh injury.

The truth is that what Bosh does for Miami (where he is under and incorrectly utilized) isn't too difficult to replace. The only reason it has left such a gaping hole is because of their lack of big man depth.

I'm not holding my breath that the wheels are actulally gonna fall off for them this round but it sure would be nice.

Watching the ramifications of an early Miami exit would be very interesting.

Bosh has been so heavily critiqued for not being up to the par of LeBron and Wade that he had actually become a bit underrated.

I agree with Who though.  His absence is so damaging not only because he is a good player but mostly because he has no quality depth behind him.  If this were the Thunder and Nick Collison stepping in or the Spurs with DeJuan Blair stepping in this wouldn't seem like such an enormous loss.  The HEAT have literally no quality big men behind Bosh.

Absolutely.  Gonna be an interesting offseason with Phil Jackson deciding between the Heat and the Knicks should the Heat have an early exit.

Yeah with Bosh out LeBron becomes the Heat's best PF/C.

That's a problem.

The top contender?  Chalmers, Ray, Lebron, Bosh, Dwight with Cole, Miller, Battier, Haslem, Anthony off the bench?  Forget top contender... try best team of all time.

Funny, but after Bosh and LeBron signed on to play with Wade, I don't think I've ever heard them compliment each other.  :P

For all of the LeBron haters, isn't kind of amazing that this guy can play 4 or 5 positions well?  I'm amazed at his talent.  I think the fact that he isn't much of a grinder (a la Kobe) is what hurts him.  What James does on both sides of the floor is amazing.

Hah, it's pretty funny to me how people start talking about how "flawed" the Heat are when they're down 2-1 to the Pacers. Is everyone somehow forgetting that this "flawed" team made it within a couple of wins of a championship last year???

And yeah, even if they do get beat by the Pacers, it'll be because one of their key guys got injured. Assuming Bosh hadn't gone down, this team probably would've cake-walked right back to the finals.

They're no more flawed than literally any other contender out there.
