i'm really surprised by it.  I thought we were toast.  First round fodder.  That's the way we looked with JO at starting center.  We desperately needed size.  But KG switching to center totally transformed this team.  We have a legit shot of making the finals.  Seemed unfathomable earlier this year

It wasn't unfathomable to every body.  A few of us recognized that the talent level on this team gave us a shot to go deep in the playoffs from the very beginning.

Yep, when we started 4-8 there was a lot of doomsayers around here who said we wouldn't even make the playoffs. It always felt to me like they just needed to get it together. I've been thinking we've got a legitimate shot the whole season.

This season has been fun.

Let's be realistic though ... if we were playing a full strength Bulls team right now, and if we just got through a full strength Hawks team ... with a full strength Heat team on the other side of the bracket, things would look MUCH different.

Along with all those "ifs" you should include "a full strength Celtics team."

Put Green, Wilcox, and maybe even Nenad (would have stayed sans lockout), and I'd like our chances vs. the others at full strength.  Injuries blow, but we've had plenty...

The resurgence of KG bringing back his game of yore , the maturity of Rondo and especially Bradley have impacted this team (HUGE)

I think KG's  "FIRE" has lite up Doc, DA,  PP and RA to.  

The Celtics have had their dose of bad luck , injuries , ect ...

I think maybe its time for a few calls and shots to fall our way ...

Last year we made it to the 2nd round, but lost.  This year we made it to the 2nd round, but are fate is yet to be determined.  Sure, we'll probably advance, but isn't yet a certainty.

What the OP is pointing out is that last year the team lost in 5 games in the second round.  This year, the worst we can do is lose in six in the second round. 

This already represents an improvement over last year, albeit a very slight one so far.
