typical effort from this group of players and Doc.

They don't get up for a full game of good basketball unless their backs are against the wall.  Any other situation and they just screw around and play with their heads up their asses.  tonight was no different.  horrid playing in the second half as well as equally horrid coaching.

I'm no fan of Doc and have thought his time with this team had run it's course last year since he obviously can't get through to these players to play with effort in critical games-->which is every game in the playoffs.

Please.

This loss is squarely on the people wearng the green uniforms, who weren't smart enough and didn't have the will tonight to do the simple things that win games for them - attack the rim, move the basketball and in the fourth quarter, just work hard.

How to beat Philly is obvious. To everyone but the 12 guys wearing green uniforms. The lack of pace, the lack of ball movement, the abject refusal to attack the rim until late - all absolutely inexcusable and unacceptable from a team with championship aspirations.

Blaming Rivers and the refs is just looking for excuses to avoid the obvious. We were terrible and Philly richly deserved to win. Case closed.

I knew this would happen when i found out ray is going to be able to play. Doc riding an ice cold, cant defend a chair ray allen. Id rather play pavlovic or daniels than allen at this point

thanks refs for killing this game and extending the series
Plenty of blame to land on Boston's plate. Whatever they were doing in the first qtr, they quit.

it's hard to keep doing it when the refs call fouls on you for playing defense but let the other team hack you when you go to the basket

Remember who called this in the second quarter.

Absolutely abysmal half of stupid offensive basketball. No pace, no penetration, no ball movement, no rebounding.

This is one of the worst Celtics losses I've ever seen, an absolutely gift-wrapped debacle given away by our own inability to play anything remotely close to intelligent basketball.

absolutely perfect analysis of this debacle

I'm trying to understand how do you lose a 15 point lead.
Also next season Danny and Doc needs to find the solution for the horrible rebounding.

Rebounding, like you said.

There were so many 2nd chance opportunities in that 4th. The collapse was bad enough, but they could've at least held on if they rebounded.

I blame Doc here. Why he did not go big is beyond me. Thad Young was killing Pierce in the boards. I bet he could'nt do that if Bass or Hollins was is.

Refs though are partly responsible from bringing Philly off the mat imo, I mean who would not be rejuvinated after that...Boston was not alloed to play very much defense without it being called.

Did the refs give lou williams a ladder, call all the players off the court and let him put it in the bucket.  Williams went off and Iggy stepped up.  We couldnt match it.  It sux but i cant blame the refs for this.  A determined team on their home court stepped up.

Why didn't we have Pietrus on Igoudala? I know we are missing Ray's ability to hit a key shot but if we need some offense/defense substitutions at the end of the game to win then we need to do it, Ray's terrible defense was what broke us in a tie game.

Wow. sky is falling again... I love Celticsblog.

Horrible game by the Celtics. They clearly feel they don't need to play 48 minutes against the Sixers. They deserve to loose the game, no matter what.

But the Celtics are the better team, and in a perfect world with no Stern biased refs, this game is over at the half. No way the Sixers come back without the Kennedy clown band.

Hopefully the Celtics come to play for the whole game on monday.

Celtics in 6.

You have complete confidence in this team after what you've seen after 4 games? Philly s/b up 3-1. we're lucky it's 2-2. The door is now open, a bounce of the ball here or there and the Celtics season could be over in less than a week. They havent showed me they can close this out. This team is getting outworked by an inferior team. Pathetic
