#Celticstalk RT @GoodmanCBS: Boston Celtics will work out Andrew Nicholson, Draymond Green, Mike Scott, Kevin Jones, Scott Machado & Charlie Westbrook 2morrow.

So that adds

Mike Scott    PF Virginia 5th year senior
Kevin Jones   PF west virginia great college player
Scott Machado PG Iona led D-1 in assists this year
Charlie Westbrook Sg  south dakota 6'4 200lbs

also heard

Dario Hunt PF Nevada 6'8 230 good rebounder

This group is a good indication that the Cs view D Green as a PF and not a SF.

Wasn't Missouri's Marcus Denmon also on the workout list? The guy is the perfect guard to play behind Rondo: heart, defense and efficient 3 pt shooting.

I really don't hope that we draft Draymond Green with out first round picks..
The guy is TOO short to play PF in the NBA.
I can live with 6'8 but really 6'7?
I just can't imagine him going up against bigger Power Forwards in this league.
Jack of all trades, master of none.

Your not thinking with the mindset of someone drafting in the 20's. In our range, your looking for glue guys/ role players. Green is an extremely hard worker, very good rebounder, great passer, shooter. Hes a perfect 6th man= able to play a couple positions and fill in the holes. All the "perfect build" 4's and 5's are drafted in the lottery.  Were not in the lottery and I would take Green over several of them anyway because of his leadership and character.

In the early 20s we need to swing for the fence. Remember Rondo was picked at 21 and Reggie Lewis was at 22. Both had major warts  Lewis was not considered a great ball handler and a so-so athlete while we all know Rondo could not shoot.

Now I am still researching but I think there are a few players that will fit that bill who most likely be there at 21 and 22. Royce White is my first guy I have come up with. I know anxiety disorder is a huge hurdle. It is an awful affliction and his fear of flying needs to be worked on along with his anxiety. Still, every report I read is that he would be a sure-fire top ten pick were it not for the anxiety. This guy can defend multiple positions, score, pass real well and seems like the kind of player that could fit into the Celtics locker room. He plays tough and attacks constantly.

His anxiety can be treated and a solid organization like the C's could provide a good "home" for him.

I am going to keep looking, Will Barton looks intriguing but may be a reach at 22.

Kevin Jones looks to be projecting as an end of the 1st based on the teams who are working him out.

I see Kevin Jones as a Hasleem type in the pros at best.  He is a 6-8 PF who will be a tweener.   He is a hard worker but not a big time athlete.  Guys like him can succeed with their motor.

First of all, WVU was 19-14 this year not even a solid team but rather mediocre.  Again, the big east bias on this board is shocking.  Good player on a mediocre team as I see it.

He is borderline second round player almost first round.   It would be a reach for us presently where we are picking unless he moves up a lot in these work outs.  Right now as of today he is pegged to be a 2nd rounder.

Nice. I suppose with 3 picks the Cs need to be active with workouts/visits, but it is sure nice to see them focusing a lot of energy on big men.
Celtics fan for life.

  • Another undersized Celtic...
Dream scenario for the draft: Moe Harkless and Tony Wroten.  Two gazelles to run with Rondo.

I like Wroten's size and athleticism, but he's not a good shooter...

He also makes Tony Allen look like a smart ball player, and was a huge disappointment this year.  Maybe he is a late bloomer, but to me, he looks like one of those guys that gets great hype in highschool because he is more athletic than everyone else and can get wherever he wants, but who gets lost once he is playing against better athletes who actually understand the game of basketball.

Agreed!

Especially O'Quinn.

At this point, I'd be happy with Meyers Leonard, Andrew Nicholson, or O'Quinn. One (or two) of these three makes me happy.

Meyers may go rather high, but the other two could be achievable.
