Jeff Green of last year wouldn't help the Celtics.
He looked pretty [dang] good in offseason scrimmages though he worked on his game very hard all summer and supposedly looked improved

Green wouldnt have done anything, he dissapeared in the playoffs last year faster then Terrell Owens at a child support hearing.

That is nonsense.  Green played excellent defense against Lebron for a couple games in that series.  Offensively he struggled, but that is not why we traded for him.  We needed a backup for Pierce who could defend Lebron (and Carmelo), and not be a huge drop off on the offensive end, like Sasha is.

I found myself thinking "what if green was ok" alot last series. Is Jeff was able to play this season I think he would have ended up starting at the PF instead of Bass. The Cs still wouldn't be able to rebound but his versatility would have created alot of match-up problems. I fully expect him to come back next season and be a key contributor to this team. If Danny elects to bring everyone back (especially KG and Ray) then it will be AB's development and the return of Green that counters the big 3s being another year older. I belive those 2 guys will keep the celtics at least on pare with this years team.

Jeff Green would be nice to fill in for a crippled Pierce.

He was not all that impressive his first season, but neither have alot of players .  I believe in giving him another shot , he has all the tools. Think he needed to practice /play more with team and gain confidence.

Green , has more speed and athletic ability than Bass , and can get his own shot .

More depth always helps.

More depth always helps.

And San Antonio is a case in point with just the right mixture of old and young players blended together masterfully by Pop.

Green would have given us that depth and versatility. I hope we sign him next year.

JGreen running the floor with Rondo and Bradley would've dispelled much of our "old team" image, not just by flying around, but by spelling our 3/4 players, or starting instead of Bass and moving Green to the 3 when PP takes a blow. With Green starting at the 4, not only do you have a great small ball lineup of RR, AB, PP, JG and KG, but you have Ray and Bass coming off the bench. Now that's a formidable team.

I think Green would have been a strong compliment this year (with upside).

He wasn't exactly embraced after the trade last year and with little time to adjust it's not hard to see why he looked timid and uncomfortable in the playoffs.

I think the team and fans attitude towards him changed going into this year and I think that would have had a positive effect on his game and the way he would mesh with the team. Hopefully, we get to see it next year and for a few more after that.
