AB's absence at the end of the second and especially for most of the third killed us last night. I think that we scored 9 points that quarter!?!?

Also, Pietrus didn't play as much as he could've to spell Pierce, because of his injury issues, and it's not just the swelling in Pietrus' knee of which I speak. For a good part of the 3rd, Pietrus was standing/sitting behind the Cs bench with what looked like an ice pack strapped to his back.

Rondo got nicked up too. He fell hard on his wrist, but wouldn't come out.

With Pierce's, Allen's and Steamer's documented woes, these "nicks" to Bradley, Rondo and Pietrus give us NO margin for error in our play, execution and intensity, and no margin for additional injuries.

It was painful being there last night, for these wounded warriors, especially, but for me as a screaming fan, too. Hopefully a day's rest today and adjustments to the adjustments that they made will give us a shot for the rest of the series. We looked "cooked" at the end.

Also, the most deflating and pivotal play last night wasn't the foul called on KG (it was a foul, but especially at that point in the game you don't call it given how much the refs let them play, particularly with Pierce getting hacked on most forays to the basket).

The play that killed us was Lavoie Allen's buzzer beater with .9 on the shot clock on the inbounds pass. That was a dagger, and terrible luck for us. Lavoie blankin' Allen...you gotta be kidding me?

Stop it with this!!!!

Nobody is in perfect health out there, not even Oklahoma. We need to play better across the board or this 2012 Celtic Playoff Campaign will definitely fail. The Celtics are playing lousy right now and would be thoroughly embarrassed by My Hammy in the next round if we manage to muddle through. I don't hardly recognize this team from where they were three weeks ago. If this is who we truly are and are INCAPABLE of beating Philadelphia in a Seven Game Series - WE ARE BACK TO REBUILDING. No more KG, no more RA, maybe no more Pierce. Maybe Rondo finally gets traded. Welcome back to possible 5 years of the lottery.

Meanwhile it is one and one in a series nobody has dominated. So lets what the Celtics can do in Philly with thorough preperation and a full staff of players.
The beatings will continue until morale improves

Imagine that an old team whose young players are injury prone has a bunch of injuries.  Shocking.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

I nominate you as the next GM of the Boston Celtics.  That's how you do it; storm around the room shouting; "GET RID OF EVERYBODY!!!" every time the team loses a game.

The injuries hurt, but I also think everyone has been overlooking the Sixers a bit...including Doc, who was running a tighter rotation a month ago than he is right now.  There is no sense of urgency, which is not good when you are facing a talented young team that will just get better if they gain confidence.

Dude, slow down there! There still is an opportunity to win games and win a championship. Philly has to keep up their level to even have a chance to beat us. We need to figure out ways to get it done with our alleged basketball court savvy which was sorely lacking on our behalf last night. After this tournament is the time to give serious consideration and merit to making major changes to the roster. Losing to the Sixers in this series makes a compelling case to make changes I would think. They will only get better, the onus is on us to improve as a team from 2013 forward. This is absolutely imperative the Celtics need to win this particular series.

what people quickly forget is that Philadelphia is a good team who we barely beat out for the 4 seed due to a bad stretch they had at the end of the season while working their starting center back into their rotation after he missed a ton of games. They are not scrubs. We were pretty close to being the 8 seed ourselves and they were close to being the 4 seed. With that said, we will win this series because we are the better team.
