Watching Pierce the last couple of games you know that something isn't right.  I don't think he actually has a sprained MCL, but I know something isnt right.

If everything goes to plan this round, we will really need Pierce against the heat both scoring the basketball and defending Lebron. I think with a healthy Pierce we have a fighters chance against the Heat, with this version of Pierce I think it could get ugly.

It doesn't help that Pietrus is playing poorly, we could use more minutes from him to rest PP.

Don't know, it depends on how well his defense and scoring holds up. His shooting has been a mess but he's gotten to the line to keep scoring at a relatively efficient clip.

Overall ideally a quick series against Philly will give his knee some rest before a potential ECF. But I'm not so sure that's going to happen.

If Paul can't stay healthy, then I think we'll be in trouble.  Right now he's healthy enough to contribute, though.  If he keeps stepping on the court, he'll have some games where he starts shoots the ball better.

I read the piece on Pietrus at WEEI today.  I did not know that his knee was bothering him again.  I wondered why Doc was not playing him more instead of Pierce, since we probably gain defensively while Pierce is hurt.

I think Pietrus has to play more for us to be at our best.  The shots will fall, he had 2 go in and out in Game 1.

He'll step up when he has to and play facilitator when he can't give a maximum effort on offense.

Celtics will need him healthy more for the next round defensively.

If Pierce were healthy I'd say the C's had a 40% of beating Miami.
With Pierce unable to get lift on his jump shots, the C's chances of winning drop to 10% or so.

The C's could still do it if KG maintains his current level of play, Rondo picks his up a little - mostly in the dominating end to end speed way. He's already playing at a high level though. And then thirdly the 3 point shooters need to be on. Any 2 of Pierce, Allen, Bradley, Pietrus, Dooling, Pavlovic (if required to play) need to hit a couple 3's per game.

With Bosh potentially hobbled, the C's chances increase significantly. He's the only one that can match up with KG. Haslem is limited and OK, but the rest of the Heat bigs are going to get torched by KG if forced to play him.

If Pierce keeps playing at the level he has for the past few games then I don't think we have a chance at winning the Championship.  Not unless KG and particularly Rondo both play out of their mind each game.

However, if Bosh's injury is pretty serious then I think we can possibly beat Miami and get to the Finals.  And there is this theory out there that "Anything is Possible!!"  ;D

it's possible but not likely.  we need his shooting and especially his defense for either Granger or Lebron in the next round and possibly Durant in the finals.

We also need one of Pietrus, Sasha or Daniels to get it in gear offensively to provide 8-10 more points off the bench.

Ray's been a non-factor so far so that's making PP's importance all the more glaring.

The only way we have a chance to win the title is if the Celtics sweep the sixers and get a week of rest for the ECF.

Hopefully pierce can get back to 100% or close to it during that week off and we can stomp Miami without Bosh.

Unless those two things happen, a title or a trip to the finals is looking grim.
