doc's rotation for this second quarter has been horrid
Agreed. Why he kept Bass on the court despite picking up fouls, shooting horrendously and turning the ball over like a siv was beyond me.

It it just me or does it seem like the Celtics are playing down to the 6ers level?

I don't think the Celtics are playing down to the 76ers level. They are just shooting terribly. They have gotten numerous fantastic looks, most shots they have taken have been open, but they are just missing.

This is correct but when does it become even more of an issue.  It's 8 games into the playoffs now and the Celtics have shot poorly in all but ONE.  We all keep waiting for these shots to start falling but it needs to happen soon.

Bass, Avery, Pietrus, Ray (from 3) a couple of these guys have got to start making open shots

  • Another undersized Celtic...
I hate to paraphrase Michael Felger, but with this Celtics team I don't really care what happens the first three quarters (aside from going into the 4th down 20), because that's the only 12 minutes this team is willing to play against inferior opponents.

Charles Barkley confirming what we already knew.

"Celtics have zero respect for the 76ers, they arent trying, they arent playing with any passion, they know they are better then this team and just showed up"

Bradley is desperately needed. He's one of the primary things that invalidates a major 76ers advantage, and he gives the 76ers so much trouble.

He also, quite honestly, saved our rear ends in game 1 with a number of huge offensive as well as defensive plays.

Jrue Holiday has 13 first half points including 3-3 from long range.  Also 3 assists and 2 steals.  Almost single handedly keeping Philly alive for stretches.

And Rondo was covering him for several of those shots, twice he got lost in the rotations standing in the lane while Holiday hit open 3's

In case anyone was wondering who the #2 Rondo hater was on this forum.

Ray Allen/Bradley/Dooling were guarding Jrue Holiday on all but like 2 of his baskets. They just showed highlights of him on TNT and Rondo wasn't guarding him for any of them.

Quick, someone on Red's Army made a mistake when talking about Rondo. Rondo needs you to go call that guy who made the mistake a hater and defend his honor!

Hurry up or his honor will never be defended again!

Besides rebounding (which goes without saying nowadays and partly has to do with Doc Rivers' coaching style), if there's one thing that plagues this team and stops them from being unstoppable, it's their inability to have a consistent offense.

You can almost always count on this team now going through a couple of 5-7 minute stretches per game of just terrible offense and hardly any scoring.

And while I normally don't agree with Barkley on his Cs analysis, he's dead on right now.  For the most part, the Celtics are still just kinda playing...going through the motions...no real energy.  And it's almost like game 1 fueled it even more.  Because for the most part, the Celtics really only played 1 quarter last game, the 4th, and was still able to win.

So I'm sure the thought has gone through their heads (especially Rondo) that if they can get a win against this team when only putting effort into one quarter, might as well do it again.

Do you and bostonman go to therapy together and discuss how Rondo haunts your dreams?

Very glad Charles said that.  With the exception of Hollins, the team seems to be coasting.  They won't hear about those comments tonight but they will by tomorrow.  Can't afford not to go all-out in the playoffs.  Clean this team out and rest up then.

I'm starting to get more respect for Doc this game for the following reason:

Ryan Hollins may not have been a better option than Steamboat or any other center off the bench, but we're going to eventually need more than just Steamboat if we want to win it all.  And these extra minutes for Hollins have really allowed him to channel is energy into production, and show him what its like to be successful in the playoffs.  His improvement is a long term investment that might just pay off.  Great job Hollins & Doc.

The C's are good enough shooters. They just need to keep shooting.
