I think it was pretty clear yesterday, not to take them lightly or anything but none of their guys really scare me.

I don't think we could have asked for a better second round matchup. They are probably the weakest playoff opponent at the moment.

we played poorly, shot a terrible percentage, racked up the turnovers, and put forth 6 good minutes in the end and managed to win. That's all I need to know about how tough the sixers are. I just hope we put forth a much better effort for the whole game the rest of the way.

I think they are easier just because they don't have matchup nightmares like Josh Smith and Al Horford.

Teams with good big men kill us.

That isn't to say we are going to walk all over them, just that it is easier for us because we aren't going to give them tons of extra possessions with our inability to rebound.

No, the sixers are NOT easier, just they come at you in a different way. They are more swarming, faster, and work the ball around better. THIS is NOT OVER...so don't be thinking we can win so easiy. I didn't see the whole game last night...   ( i was fishing for 12 hours during the day, so i didn't quit just because the C's looked off) ( i was BEAT!)....but if doc didn't put in sasha, he is not thinking again, as he slips into this mode.....like an American voter, to forget what was and wasn't in the near past. Sasha shut down joe j....not an easy task, shoots VERY well when warmed up, like all shooters, and can make layups and more...we lose a ot of offense when pp is hurt, but he is hurt....so sit the man, he WILL heal if he rests...that is how it works at his age.....i actually don't think doc can sit pp..because pp tells him how it is....it has been that way all along......

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Not easier, they're about the same.

They may not have the top tier talent like Joe Johnson, Al Horford, or Josh Smith. However, they are much deeper and over all just as talented. Our success will depend on our ability to keep them from running and locking them down in the half court.

Of course the Sixers are easier, they are an 8th seed which should have been swept in the first round if injuries had not happened to the Bulls.

Meanwhile the Hawks were a 4th seed and we didnt even have home court advantage and still won.

The sixers beat us 2 out of 3 times this year....and as for INJURIES..well, if you haven't noticed........WE have them too...and they are younger, and therefore may have less injuries, and heal faster from them...smaller ones anyway.....

There is no easy opponent.  Period.  Not when we have a rookie and a castoff from a bad team as the only centers on our roster...And the rest of us are banged up.

No one said they were an easy opponent.

Just easier than the Hawks. I think it is ridiculous to put them on the same level as the Hawks. The Hawks are much more talented than the Sixers. That's not to say the Sixers aren't going to put up a fight against us. Just that they aren't as good as the Hawks.

Sixers are healthier. Hawks were dealing with a lot of front court injuries, which made Hawks easier than they should have been.

So Hawks had a better team if healthy, but since they weren't, it is hard to say.

As for top-tier talent, I think Iggy is at the same level as Smith, Horford and Johnson - borderline all starts with limited games at this point. Lou Williams does a fine job as the Joe Johnson type at the end of games. Sixers play hard defense, which can be lost in individual player analysis, and Hawes can be a tough bigman. We have a tendency towards careless passes, which Philly is great at exploiting.

I would a lot more comfortable if it wasn't for Pierce injury. Even if we beat the Sixers, i cannot belive we can win it all the way Pierce is playing.

The team with the 4th best record is typically better than the 8th.....

Still I wouldn't go as far to call them easier.  They don't have scorers any where near the caliber of Joe Johnson, nor do they even have guys capable of getting as hot as Smith or Horford (although Lou Williams is dang close).  Still, they make up for it by being an actual TEAM.  As you could see in the first half, when they're playing their game they can score as good as anybody.  And also the benches aren't even on the same planet.

The real kicker is having the 2nd best defense in basketball.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale
