The Big 3 era is as follows:

2008: Championship
2009: 2nd round game 7 exit vs Orlando (no KG)
2010: NBA Finals Game 7 loss vs Lakers, great run up to that point
2011: Off year you could say, Rondo injured,Shaq out,Perk traded
2012: Championship

total: 2 championships, 3 finals appearances, 1 good playoff run without KG

Doesn't require a championship to be successful. This franchise was going nowhere with the flotsam and jetsam Danny swapped for Garnett and Allen.
