KG: 17 PPG, 8.5 RPG, 3.2 APG, .9 BPG, 1.1 SPG, .503 FG%, .863 FT%.
(post All-Star break when KG became full time center)

Playoffs: 20 PPG, 10.7 RPG, 1.8 APG, 2 BPG, 1.1 SPG, .506 FG%, .880 FT%.

I say The Celtics resign KG as Boston's center and draft a kid to maybe learn underneath him.

Obviously.   KG is the best player on the entire team.

KG probably goes on his own terms though out with a bang playing at a high level, and retires after this year >:(

I believe KG should be resigned and be the Center for how much long he can still play.

If we are not drafting a big. Then out of all those choices mentioned the guys I would like to take a shot at would be Thabeet and Hawes.

Hawes has game. Good rebounder and a good mid range shooter. He's not dominant in any way but he could be a good option at center.

Thabeet has been a bust. And he will NEVER be a good offensive big man, but his defensive potential is sky high. If he learns from KG how to play defense, how the schemes work, and gets inspired as to how KG is passionate about the game, how he plays and plays it with fire for every single possession, with his athleticism we could (i said we could not we will) be looking at a future DPOY multiple times. 7'3'' 260 lbs of young man who knows how to play defense is a BIG TIME asset.
2019 CStrong Historical Draft 2000s OKC Thunder.
PG: Jrue Holiday / Isaiah Thomas / Larry Hughes
SG: Paul George / Aaron McKie / Bradley Beal
SF: Paul Pierce / Tayshaun Prince / Brian Scalabrine
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge / Shareef Abdur-Raheem / Ben Simmons
C: Jermaine O'neal / Ben Wallace

I have stated that he is our best and our most important player.  I think Rondo is our most talented player, and the one player who can dominate an entire game on both ends of the floor.  But KG is without a doubt our best player.  We are playoff fodder without him.

I know many on this board wanted to sign Dwight Howard assuming he was a Free Agent, but if you could get KG back for just one year, wouldn't you sign him for $15M?  Maybe even a little more?  The guy is playing like an MVP right now.

That's my fear now too.

The more upset I see him at the idea people would think he'd play at a diminished level because of his age, the less I think he'll let himself get to that point.

(Could explain his playing as an absolute beast in these playoffs, too.)

IF he can keep up this level play he is worth at max $15m/year.   Problem is what are the chances he can keep it up when he turns 36?

I don't think KG will retire if the Celts come close to a championship but fall short.  I think he would retire if the Celts won

Not only is KG the best FA center,  he's the best big.  He's also the second most attractive FA, after D-Will, who the last season and a half, has become D-Won't.  (Sorry Ryan Anderson, three point shooting bigs who can't do anything else aren't my thing).

I can see the Cs giving KG 2 and $20m and both parties being happy.  KG is playing too well and is too healthy to hang it up. Who would have bet three seasons ago that KG would be the healthiest of the Big 3 int he 2012 playoffs.

Regarding the UFA centers, assuming that Duncan isn't moving, the two best ones are Hawes and Kamen. Hawes will probably get a 5/$50m deal from some team desperate for a center.  I hope it isn't the Celtics.

Kamen would be a nice addition here.  He's coming off a 5 and 50m contract like the one Hawes is going to get, with similar stats as Hawes when Kamen signed his deal. Kamen will get the MLE at least,  and probably a 3/$25m deal from some team in a league desperate for size.

Offer him less money with a no trade clause. It really hurt KG when Wolves traded him. I think he values the security of his legacy more than cash. I also really want him to retire wearing the #5 green.

None are better than KG, but some may be better than Brandon Bass.  We need two bigs, and KG can play both positions.

Obviously.   KG is the best player on the entire team.

It isn't close at the moment. Without him, we're not worrying about the Sixers last night - another game that he bailed out a largely inept effort.

We're worrying about Game 7 with the Hawks.

Thabeet - Paddy O'Blount's brother by another mother - a better center than Kevin Garnett?

I am absolutely speechless.
