Love to see KG point out that without Hollins' big offensive rebound, we likely lose this one today.

Just saw it on NBA TV.

There were some looks exchanged between KG and Rondo when Washburn asked his question about the last 35 games. But, I didn't get the sense that KG's pointed response was directed specifically to Washburn himself, but to everyone who's writing that KG might be washed up or over the hill ("I don't read y'all's stuff, but it gets back to me.").

The question about Hollins and other bench players was directed to both KG and Rondo. KG looked to me like he wanted to give Rondo a chance to speak, and Rondo took the opportunity to confirm that Hollins, MP, and everyone stepped it up ("every possession matters"). Rondo specifically lauded the fact that it was Hollins who got the Celtics the "extra possession" that led to KG's big basket.
Maybe you are right about KG letting Rondo field a question but I don't know. It was pretty obvious Rondo didn't want to be there from his body language and its just as clear that the people wanted KG to say more once he went off on the hawks owner.

The question came up about Hollins and KG just looked in the other direction and shut up.

Rondo did say a couple good things about Hollins but deflected it to everyone on the bench.

Maybe I am reading more into the announcement of Washburn but pay attention to KG's eyes when he looks in that direction and it is announced it is Washburn. The before Washburn asks his question watch the exchange between Rondo and KG.

I thought the question rather innocuous but KG cuts him short and starts his thing. Maybe you are right but I have heard things that Washburn isn't sitting pretty in the eyes of the players just now from a Globe writer my son knows.

You could be right. I don't know the backstory. At face value, I couldn't tell if KG was hotted up in general, or specifically at Washburn.

It definitely was one of the better pressers. Jessica Camerato followed Washburn, and she had a tough time posing her question, KG was so revved up.

oh man.  I have to say I have even more respect for KG after this game and what he said in the press conf.  I don't think he was trying to give soundbites, I think he gave a great explanation to his view on the idiotic comments from the Hawks owner.  I love his passion for the game and how he believes in his team and coach 100%.  That is a big difference between the Celtics and the Hawks, and a lot of other teams.  Passion, effort, and teamwork can sometimes overcome athleticism and talent.  It is the ultimate expression of celtic pride.

I just hope KG has a few more of these games up his sleeve for the sixers series, we are going to need them.

KG just is such pure emotion, when he gets like he was in the presser tonight, it's like he's speaking in tongues.

He mostly likely doesn't even know what is coming out of his mouth.

  • It's all about the TEAM!
Love KG! He looks like he is about to get emotional a couple times there. He's so passionate! I don't have any idea why someone would fire this man up like that! Like he said...

Thank you for putting some gas in his tank!

You saw that Rondo didn't want to be there from his body language?  How about his wardrobe language?  There it is a nice evening in May and he's sitting down to take questions with what looks just short of a winter parka on.

He's a sensitive and stubborn guy.  Looks to me like after all the jokes about his jacket on Tuesday he wore a jacket that practically said "I'm already almost out of here, you jerks!"

Classic presser...makes me appreciate KG more every day. Also...yeah...this reminds me that KG Jr. is on the team right now, too. Rondo is just like Kevin...surly, intense, and all about winning. I remember Perk saying they were like siblings last year, and I think that shows even more during things like this.
