He's clearly outmatched.

Which makes me think, as crazy as this can sound, that we should start Hollins and slide KG to PF for tonight.

It is not an upgrade but at least it would bother Horford and Smith a little bit on both ends of the court since they'll be giving up 2 - 3 inches.

Put Bass on the bench, playing the same amount of minutes so most of his playing time is against Ivan Johnson and/or Jason Collins, both of them he can outplay. All the while, Hollins should set the tone early and crash the boards or if not, make it hard for Al Horford to get some.

He hit all his FT...

He has gotten lost on just about every defensive rotation.  That's something, right?

Yup Bass,  is disappointing , he needs to be more of a presence on the boards and "D" if he can't get his shot.   I see him standing around to much watching the others play basketball.

He is not moving his feet .  Ray is looking more mobile than Bass.

What would I have give to see Wilcox ( bigger and active) on our team grabbing rebounds and running the court. ....dang we need him. >:(

Well, he hasn't been THAT bad, but Horford certainly ate his lunch in Game 5.

With that being said...as long as Bass eats Horford's lunch tonight, all is forgiven.

I'm a Bass a matic freak ,  I'm just disappointed /letdown with his effort I guess , in that I thought everybody has to play better this time of year , not disappear.

Maybe he'll reappear yet .  He is too short to play powerforward against the 6'10 " dudes.  e gets his rear end handed to him.

Bass was very productive in Game 5 at the start.  I think he had 10 pts in the first 1.5 quarters.

He is getting some boards too, if my mind servers me right.

This.

Combine that with the jumper not falling and that’s very unproductive court time. He even seemed tentative at times to take the ball off the dribble to open lanes after getting fouled hard by Williams in the last game. He needs to step it up in the grit and balls department.

I don't know what's worse:
(a) That in our biggest game of the season, you suggest we start a guy who got cut by the 3rd worst team in the league this year;
(b) That you may be right.

Yeah that's a good one.  Also that he has no post moves and seemingly can only dunk or hit wide open jumpers.  His reputation in Orlando was of coming up small in the playoffs which he has reinforced so far.

He has also made it clear that he should not be the starting PF for the Boston Celtics in the future as he is much better suited for a supporting bench player role.

With all that said, have a feeling he might have a big game tonight  ;D

Exactly. They're closing out on him so he's not getting the open looks he's used to. He becomes a deer in headlights when that happens, which obviously isn't good for the offensive flow. Once last game he didn't freeze - he just took it to the rack. I think we'll see more of that this game.

The suggestion to start Hollins isn't crazy though, as Bass would flourish playing the same minutes against Ivan Johnson.

He hit all his FT...

Speaking of FT's, Pierce and KG have made a COMBINED 3 out of 4 FT attempts over the last 2 games.
We all think we know more than we really do....

Its a terrible matchup for Bass.

Hes getting destroyed by Smith and Horford who are both much bigger then him. Nothing we can but hope they close this series out so we dont have to deal with these guys anymore.
