I'm sick of seeing this covered on TNT and all of the local outlets with nobody really understanding what happened here.

Rondo was chatting with Josh Smith's mom and daughter Genesis. Rondo and Smith went to high school together their senior year at Oak Hill Academy. You can see "Momma Smith" on the back of her jersey and hear J Smoove's daughter say "Rondo" when he was walking away.

Rondo and the whole Smith family are obviously close due to their history and past ties. Rondo is smart enough to know that he doesn't want footage on Boston and national TV networks showing him chatting and hugging it up with the Power Forward of the team who just beat his team in a playoff game in which they should have won.

If the footage of him and J smoove hugging and hanging out in the arena was played, he would have been killed locally and nationally. People would be saying "Larry Bird wouldn't be chatting it up with the guy who just whooped his ass"

LEAVE RONDO ALONE, GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT
Ding ding

This is exactly why he did it was about to post the same thing
"7ft PG. Rondo leaves and GUESS WHAT? We got a BIGGER point guard!"-Tommy on Olynyk

Actually, if the writer is correct, Rondo is clearly in the wrong here. If the cameraman is in an approved media area, Rondo has no beef whatsoever. When you make 10 large a year, there are no private moments and there are no reasonable expectations of same where the league has established that the media may work.

With that said, it's a non-issue. I'm more concerned that he's color-blind and style-blind wearing that piece of sofa upholstery.

Let's say it is an approved media area. But you don't see credible sportswriters standing in hallways and audio recording players' conversations with their friends and families and printing those quotes in the news. Somehow it's fine for a TNT cameraman to film players' conversations with their friends and families and air them on TV?

the camera wasnt close enough to get audio, come on now...

ive been around these areas after games, players  ALWAYS meet families in media areas. I was around the media area with doc rivers and austin rivers meeting up, along with other duke families at the same time after a duke road game in the "media area."  ESPN was there taking pictures and filming of everything. its nothing new.

rondo was clearly angry about being with the opponents family

Media=The dirtiest 5 letter word in the English dictionary.

Always up in someone's business like it's theirs.

I love my man, Rondo, but he's just plain gotta have a bit thicker skin when it comes to this stuff ... it comes with the territory, as it did in college, and I'm sure he knew that before coming to the NBA.

I think the chip on his shoulder gets a little too big for him to carry at times, and he'll make things a lot easier on himself and his family/friends if he approaches these situations with a bit more temperance and maturity.

I don't think there's anything wrong with what he did, and I certainly understand his point-of-view under those circumstances, but he was in the position to take the high road, and I think it would've served him more in the long run to do so.

No biggie, though.
