You're right. Chris Paul would have easily been able to get up a shot against Horford.

No Chris Paul would have not dribbled into the two best defenders on the opposing team and would've given to ball to either Peitrus or Pierce on the break

Oh, for God's sake. He didn't "dribble into the two best defenders." The two best defenders stepped up to get to him. Smith closed on Rondo on that play to take away the pass, and Horford closed on him in the corner.

you keep your facts out of this, he clearly had all the time in the world to run a set play  ::)

Again, tough, hard fought game but not worried till atlanta forces a game 7. prove to me you can do it without your crowd behind you.

only looked at 1 page nd the overreaction is sickening, we played HORRIBLE nd had a chance to win at da buzzer, it's hard to close out on da road nd we missed a lot of oppurtunities im confident we gon watch film nd close this out on thursday if we lose dat game then we're in serious trouble but i highly doubt we lose at home on thursday IMO dis was a nice farewell game from their hawks to their fans

This result was basically the worst of both worlds: a hobbled Pierce continued to play, and Boston loses anyway. Fan-freakin-tastic.

And I understand Bass not being able to cover Josh Smith, but not being able to stay with Horford away from the ball? Lame.

Exactly.

Bass not being able to cover Horford was the reason we lost this one.

Bass took a few plays off. I love the guy, but he missed some assignments there. I saw it with my two eyes.

Rajon almost single-handedly saved that game for us.

I'm not concerned. Win some, lose some. Great game by Atlanta. I would have loved for the series to be over here, but I think all the Hawks did was delay their fate. The Celtics will take care of business back home on Thursday.

Bass is important to this team's success.  But, if you watch him on his rotations he is often in the wrong spot in addition to not being able to stay with his assignment.  I would say he is the worst defender of the starters and maybe the bench, as well.

Regardless of how the Hawks defended it, Rondo had two chances to get that ball to KG. You need to get someone a shot off there. KG was our best bet, being 7 feet and within his range. There was no excuse not to give the ball to KG there.

Rondo's #1 priority should have been to make sure we were getting a somewhat high percentage shot off. Not hoping he could turn the corner and get a wide open teammate a good look, that is unrealistic for 5 seconds left in a playoff game 5 going the whole court length.

You really think Kg barley over the half court 30 feet from the basket was the better play eh?

I think both were pretty terrible options.

How fairweather does someone have to be to blame this game on Rondo lol.

If we were playing tomorrow, the need for extra worry would be much greater. We can't assume that rust or limitations wont catch up with Horford or Smith. We've been in every game despite our problems. The other side might talk about making the game "easy" for themselves, but they've done anything but. Scrapping, yes. But they did get embarrassed. And they do have a history of wilting. You saw them almost wilt on their **** home floor. And now they have to go back to the place they were torn up just to have a chance to get back in it.

I think we're ok. Until I see otherwise.

I think we'll be fine. The hawks are a good team, and they played their best game tonight. They saved face and will go out gracefully thursday.

thats a little extreme.  you act like he sparked a comeback in the third.

  • Another undersized Celtic...
One final thought for all the green-blooded lemmings about to run in waves off of the Tobin Bridge after a game 5 loss: 96% of teams who go down 3-1 end up losing the series.

it's looking more and more like the sixers-bulls series will also go to 3-2. I guess it will be a 6 pm game 6 on thursday. Ugh! How am I supposed to get home in time for that?

Just got back from the game.  So disappointing, and the obnoxious Hawks fans made it worse.

Right when Rondo took it into the corner I knew it was over, that was a terrible decision.
