If we get by the Hawks, who I am not writing off just because we are banged up and I see game 5 in Atlanta going to the Hawks.  Hopefully we can take them out in Boston to move on.  Assuming the Sixers move on, how do you think we will fare against them?  I could see us letting our guard down and prolong this series longer then it should be.  We did not match up well against them in the reg. season.  I can see this series going 7 with the Sixers possibly upsetting the Cs in Boston.  Thoughts??

AI < Pierce
Brand > Bass
Hawes = KG
Turner > Bradley
Holiday < Rondo

Phi Bench > Bos Bench

Collins = Doc

Spencer Hawes is playing well, but he does not equal Kevin Garnett.

Offensively if he keeps playing like this he does, its on the defensive end there is a large difference.

I think the C's are a slightly better defensive team and have more creative passers than the 76ers. They have more athletes who can do more damage in transition or in iso/p&rs if they get hot shooting.

They are a younger version of the C's, strong defensive team, primarily shoot jump shots, and are vulnerable on the boards.

Like I said; Spencer Hawes does not equal Kevin Garnett.  He's a big man with a nice touch and good passing ability, but that's where the similarities end.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
We will destroy the Sixers. Plenty of rest between games. Home court advantage.
We do need Ray+Bradley but they lack the size to bother us too much. They'll go on runs with their athleticism but our defense will crush them over 7 games.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

These asessments were clearly made just to spark a reaction. I mean you are clearly looking to rile people up with your Hawes = KG and Collins = Doc statements.

I am very inruiged with a Bradley v. Turner matchup though.  Turner has really looked impressive in spurts this round.  But he can't do the same things against our backcourt as he has done against a depleted Bulls team trotting out a decrepit Rip Hamilton for 30 minutes a night.

Any team without legitimate size (i.e. Philadelphia) we have a good shot of beating

Phili would be an interesting matchup just for the Holiday + L Williams vs RR + AB matchups. But first they have to finish atl.

That's the most sensible thing to say, even more than saying Hawes isn't equal to KG.

Philly scares me as much as any team other than the Heat.

They have a bunch of long athletic guys, they have some knock down shooters, they have big guys who can do a lot of damage down low, if they are playing well, and they have a good coach who has gotten them to play very disciplined at times this season.

They are certainly a Jeckle and Hyde type team, that is not really pieced together perfectly, but they have a ton of talent, and some guys who can create real matchup problems for the C's if they aren't locked in.

Really? They do not scare me at all. I view them as a team lacking a closer that doesn't win close games.
