If somehow we won the championship this year, should KG's number be raised to the rafters? Should it be retired anyways?

For any other franchise I would say yes, but there's two problems for me. One, it sounds crazy but we're gonna start running out of numbers soon.  Two, if KG's number is retired, does Ray's need to be also? Love Ray, but I don't see it happening.

ray made 3 all-star teams, won a championship, broke the 3 point record in a c's uniform .

KG made 4 all-star teams, won DPOY, won title and completely changed the culture of the team making them legit contenders for 5 years .

I would say KG should be retired for sure and Ray has a strong case for it . If they win another title there is no doubt both should have their numbers retired .

Only should be considered if they win another title.

My criteria was always 5+ years and 2+ titles for KG and Ray.  If we win another title, I'd retire their numbers.

I'd do it yesterday.

One more title KG will get his jersey retired. Same criteria applies to Ray.

This'll sound callous but if Reggie's retired KG and Ray have to be.

KG changed the culture of the team and the public perception about the organization, not to mention helping us get #17. He is a lock to have his number retired imo. Ray on the other hand is on the border, I think he needs 1 more title to get over the hump.

Your right it did sound callous... it's also not true.

I say KG get's his number retired if he doesn't ask for way too much money and comes back to help next season.

I don't think it's fair to Pierce that he sits out a decade before getting a ring in Boston, then KG and Ray come in and win with Boston and they get their jersey's retired as well? I love KG but he needs to put in more time in Boston before he can get his jersey retired.

I have no problem with the statement.  I just don't agree with it.  Based on the question being asked today....None of the three deserve / deserved to have their numbers retired.

I loved Reggie's game.  But the retirement of a jersey should be based on performance....Not sentiment.

You are looking at it irrationally. You don't compare the contributions. You look at all three individually and ask if they have individually done enough for the franchise to deserve it. Not doing it for two because they don't deserve it AS much as Pierce, is silly.

I think the fact that we already have so many retired numbers means we should have higher standards for future number retirements. There becomes a point where you can't retire all numbers.

One more title and they are both in. I wouldn't put them there yet.

Don Nelson, Jim Loscutoff, Cornbread....I dunno with with all do respect, having those guys up in the rafters but not KG or Ray just doesn't seem right to me.
