LIve on CSSNE
saw it on tv
on line with Donny Marshall..

unreal.  >:(

This isn't the first time he's said so. He said the same thing after the game in Miami where we blew out the Heat.  That said, yesterday he did say that the C's have first class organization, even if he doesn't like them. However, you seem to be missing out the fact that he said we're going to easily get by Atlanta, either Philly or Chicago, and take Miami to the limit, if not beat them, during his conversation with Marshall. He added that anything less would be a disappointment.

I find those 2 very entertaining. Why do people care if he roots for the Celtics? That's not his job and the main thing is that he hates the NBA.

He has talked recently about how they are a likable team, and was talking about how KG and Pierce are winners.

And he said joe johnson was ball-less which I found funny

Don't people know that you can't be an objective sports journalist covering the NBA unless you are a Celtics homer on some level?

Not living near Boston, I don't know this Felger guy.  Is he like a local version of Skip Bayless?  Cause I like me some Skip Bayless.

I'm confused, is it part of his job to root for the C's?  He's a sports journalist from Milwaukee, who found his way to Boston.  I don't think being a Celtics fan is part of the job description.
If I were a journalist in Milwaukee and the Bucks were in the playoffs and the Celts weren't I probably wouldn't say I wan't rooting for the Bucks. I mean who does he want to win? The Heat? The Knicks? Does he have a thing for the Hawks or Bulls?

Again, I can't speak to the specifics without knowing the context, but this is all part of his schtick.  Usually when he says he is not rooting for the local team, it will be framed by some statement about that team.

Was he talking about Ray being sent to the bench (other journalists have taken them to task for it)?  Was he frustrated with the medical information?

And if it was just that he doesn't want the C's to win, I am fine with that.  He grew up rooting against them.  I think it is refreshing that a sports talk personality isn't kissing the butts of the local franchises.  It makes Felger fun to hate, and more interesting to listen to.
He said he was pretty sure the team would go deep into the ECfinals. He wasn't rooting for it, but was pretty sure it would happen

Not as loud or stubborn, and not as much droopy skin.  A little more mischevous skirkwise.  But yeah. You kinda got it

Copycat industry Felger is wannabe skip bayless except he knows nothing about sports mainly basketball. This clip tells you everything you need to know about this guy. He talks out of his backside without any facts to back.

I'll say this about the guy.. He's good at his job. We have two pages already discussing him. Of course he's a contrarian though, he's a talk show host.

He was interviewing Donny Marshall and said that he fully expects the Celtics to win two rounds and take the Heat deep into the Conference Fianls and perhaps win it.  Donny asked if he was, in fact, speaking to the right guy.  Felger replied that he didn't say he liked the Celtics, but given the setup he expects them walk through the Hawks and either the Bulls (minus Rose) or the Sixers.

He's been pretty clear about not liking the Celtics - which is fine.  The part that I don't like is that he doesn't like to talk about the Celtics because of his dislike for the NBA in general (and preference to the Bruins and the NHL).  I was just glad to hear them talking some hoops of the Hub.

He's saying it so you come on sites like this and post his name, or you just call in and argue with him. Felger is an evil genius.

While I understand that frustration, I wish more of the sports media would stick with what they know.  Felger is great with the Pats and Bruins, but admittedly knows very little about the C's and the NBA in general.  So, he stays away from it, unless completely necessary.

There are a lot of other guys who talk about the C's like they are an authority on them, when it is clear that about 90% of the posters on this site have more basketball knowledge in their little fingers.

Who's the one Celtic affiliated guy that Celticsbloggers have never talked about not liking? Only one I can think of is Mike Gorman and maybe Sean grande.

Causei hear people hate on bill simmons, dan shaun, bob ryan, gary tanguay, donny Marshall, Dickerson, Heinson, Walton, Felger etc etc etc.

I think Felger more than anything doesn't like how the Celtic fans can be so sensitive about their team sometimes

True.  And to his credit he knew today was one of those days where the C's were the main story.

I think Felger & Mazz are easily the best in town.  Entertainment and information wise.
