Way to completely dumb down the significance of a fans love for his team though. You may not be a diehard fan obviously, but I am. Too each his own.

I personally wonder if this post will be bumped in the heat of a hard playoff series vs the Heat and if Bosh does something questionable. We have enemies in our midst Celticsblog!

I wasn't going to comment b/c people can post w/e they want within the rules, however, I must say that I agree with you... I don't want to see good stuff about the "enemy" either, if I did I would go to their site! Every time I check the boards there seems to be (most of the time) a thread about how good of a person a guy from the cheat is, it's as if Celts fan go look for things to say good about them, I wish more articles on our guys being charitable or good guys showed up from these posters. I don't need convincing anyone on the cheat is good/classy (I guess "I" do with as many posts as they get) because I don't care about them as people, I just want to hear about Celts players and be darn the other "teams"!

Guy, i said from the begining im not a heat or a bosh guy. If you ever read any of my other posts you'd know im a die hard as well. So no need to question my fandom, we've evolved past that on this site. I simply gave the man credit where i saw it due because i respect any person who puts family first. And i beleive in this day and age its overlooked at times. To me it should be a top priority in all families. Many times on all social levels that's not the case. So good for him and ya i hope he's sent home early to see that family sooner rather than later too. Go Celtics!

I think your beef should be more with the Boston media than anything. If the Celtics players are doing charitable deeds then its being under reported. And thats not to say that they don't do plenty of things off the record. In fact i know they do but obviously theres no story on record behind those deeds so its really all hearsay.

My personal beleif is that they do most of their charitable work in and around the immediate Boston area. Mostly the inner city neighborhoods. Which clearly makes sense because thats where a lot are from. But ill also add there are plenty of children on both the north and south shore communities who may be low income that could use the advice and inspiration. Even western mass communities such as fall river, springfield etc. I live on the north shore and i cant remember the last time a Celtic ever made it this far north. Ive seen Bruins and Patriots but no Celtics. That's just my personal experience however.

I'm with thestackshow on this.  Nothing against bosh's family but i despise his team and his teammates. 

Wade is such a little punk as he displayed last year when he ran full force into pierce and got away with it and then did in rondo.  I didn't think i could dislike anyone more than lebron but wade has pulled it off. 

They are the enemy and i have nothing good to say about any of them.

It isn't really classy... Bosh decided to be with his wife while she went into labor and delivered the baby. He is supposed to be with his wife during this time. If Bosh wasn't with his wife during her labor / delivery, it would make Bosh look like a Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline..

To be classy, you do stuff to help others because you want to. Starting a charity organization, showing good sportsmanship, treating others with respect, etc.

Doing stuff that YOU MUST DO doesn't make you classy.

Whoa whoa whoa wussies? Im a wussy for commending an opponent? Since when? I'd say that the Bostrich is at the top of the list for the least threatening opponent we face. He's clearly the gamma in a sport of alphas. That's demeaning enough. If your worried about chris bosh you need to look in the mirror with all that hard talk. The 2012 Celtics are a team of all heart. Im not too worried about guys who have none sorry.

It's a game. It's not life and death (as a few previous posters have stated) and that's a lesson i've had to learn the hard way. I've had more than my fair share of embarassing moments at the garden. But i realized it was really my own immaturity. There's kids there who just want to have fun, learn the game, and enjoy the atmosphere. Sometimes we lose sight of that. I certainly have before & regrettably so. However i think it's ok to give credit where it's due even if it is hated rival. Because this deed took place off the court and has no bareing on the Celtics in any shape or form.

As i stated before what Bosh did is something that should be expected i agree. But far too many athletes and regular joes alike dont step up to the plate and take care of their responsibilities.

Classy may be too strong a word for some people. I simply wanted to bring attention to a good story in sports for once. The negativity felt on this board to simply commend an act of a man putting family first is laughable. I consider everyone on this blog and in the garden at home etc.  a part of the wider celtic family. But i believe real family should always take precedent. Maybe you disagree.

Again, the word "classy" seems to be tripping people up. Thats my fault. Maybe someone can come up with a better word. But all the hardo's need to relaxe.

Unlike Channing whatever the hell his name is, Bosh didn't bail on his teammates for something that can be easily handled by a team of medical professionals basically working on behalf of a millionaire professional athlete.

Frye bailed on the Phoenix Suns in one of their most important games of the season because his wife was giving birth. I understand that it's an important thing to see your child born, and that's family, but isn't a team a family, too? This game for the Phoenix Suns was not a meaningless game. It's what ultimately doomed any chance they had of making the playoffs.

Steve Nash could have very easily demanded a trade away from the team, and be in the playoffs right now, but he committed himself to the team. Shame not all his teammates were willing to do the same. Bosh, unlike that Phoenix Suns player, didn't bail on his teammates, and I do respect that.

I would understand if that Suns game vs Utah was some meaningless regular season game, but it wasn't.

I agree this hardly qualifies at classy behavior on either count.  How about 'he did the job that is grossly overpaid to do.'
