When asked about whether Ray Allen would suit up for tomorrow's game, Doc said "yes" because he's been saying maybe and that hasn't been working. He indicated that Ray was able to ride a bike yesterday and is hoping that Ray will be available.

Probably Doc being more hopeful than anything , but I hope it's true. Even if he can only give us 15-20 mins a night it would be a huge plus to have him as at least a decoy ( that is of course unless he is useless on defense because of his ankle).

I think we can take the hawks out regardless if Ray comes back, I would rather him just rest it until the second round .

I heard the interview, Doc was being VERY hopeful.  He was completely joking when he said "yes".  It doesn't sound like Ray is any more likely to play tomorrow than he has been for the previous games.

He was every bit a gametime decision as Ray is.  For most of the games, he was ruled out the day before, or the day of the game, just like Ray has been.

Doc doesnt want to say hes going to play though. No point in that.
Actually having more doubt allows a better gameplan for the Celtics when Atlanta doesnt prepare.

Although this means nothing until friday, but he does sound like hes going to practice fully, so that may be a good sign

really? I could have sworn Garnett was being held out until the  Semi's.Or the 2nd round. I completely had forgotten he was a gametime decision every game

 ??? ::) ;D Get your facts straight

The Garnett injury WAS NOT a gametime decision on most games

APRIL 18th

Boston Celtics star Kevin Garnett, the centerpiece of Boston's 2008 championship and a key to its hopes of a repeat, could miss the playoffs because of a knee injury that has limited him to four games over the final two months of the season.

Celtics coach Doc Rivers said Thursday that Garnett will not be ready for Game 1 against the Chicago Bulls and possibly won't be back at all.
"It's not official that he's out for the entire playoffs, but it's official as far as I'm concerned," Rivers said before practice at the team's workout facility.

Smith out - Allen in is the exact game changer we needed.  Not getting my hopes up too high though

OK, I don't want to relive this, so I am going to leave it with this point.  While Rivers did make that statement, Ainge also made conflicting statements, and Garnetts official status was day to day.

Go and listen to the interview on WEEI.com (not sure if its posted yet, but it should be at some point today).  It was 100% clear in the interview that Doc was NOT saying Ray is going to play.  He was making a joke.

He followed the statements that were quoted up by also pointing out the last time he went hard in a practice, he couldn't walk the next day.  That was just conveniently left out of the article, because it doesn't fit the point.

So I wouldn't get your hopes up.
