Someone else brought this up, but why did he ONLY play 8 minutes???  3 rebounds and 1 block in 8 freaking minutes.  Please help me understand this and get off of Doc for this.

Thanks,

Smitty77

I just dont think he matches up real well with the Hawks front court other than Jason Collins and hes usually subbing out when Greg comes in

I don't think he did anything wrong.  At least that I saw.  To me, it seemed like Doc wanted a more offensively capable team out there.  Which means he went for Bass more than Stiemer (even using him at center in a very bizarre lineup that I never saw before: Pierce, Daniels, Bradley, Dooling & Bass).

I like Greg, but points were hard to come by in this one.  Since Bass was hitting his shots early on, it makes sense to give him the bulk of the minutes.

Greg still deserved more than 8 minutes IMHO.

Hawks only play one C that Greg matches up great with.

Doc doesn't seem to like Ivan Johnson as a match up for him.

We won the game, who cares?

I mean, who's minutes would you want to take to feed greg?

He's the9th man on the bench at best, i'm not really worried about his playoff minutes. if he has a good matchup he'll play.

Foot, my best guess.

Greg is a great mid range shooter. He's got a natural... knack for it unlike Bass who practiced into it. He probably said something to Doc and he decided it's for the best to keep him on the bench for Boston.

There's another thing. KG and Hollins high-fived after every call when together on the court. Maybe, and this is a really long shot, Doc's trying to see if he can rely on Ryan. Afterall he's the only player on this team who played a rebounder's role in his career.

I like to see that KG is devoted to both Stiemsma and Hollins, kind of says that he'll come back next year. ^^

Greg seems to be used to protect a lead . more than gain one.

I think Stiemsma is a bad match up against the hawks. Given their athleticism and fast pace, Hollins' energy seems to give him an edge.

I think the key is that you have to set your expectations high enough that it's impossible to be satisfied. We won? Okay, but how did we look? We looked good? Okay, but it's only one game. We've won a lot of games? Okay, but we haven't won a championship. We won a championship? Okay, but can we do it next year?

Having your favorite players out of the game fits in with the "How did we look?" question. Unless we look spectacular, people can rationalize that we would have look better with (insert literally anyone) in the game.

Watch..."It was a solid win, but I don't get why we didn't play JJJ at all. We really could have used his energy and legs. We got lucky Josh Smith got hurt because he was wearing us down late. I hope Doc doesn't keep him on the bench. We're going to lose if he does."
"Suit up every day."

WHAT???

Ryan Hollins is a horrible rebounder and BTW, KG kinda led the league in rebounding like 4 straight years, so I don't think you are 100% correct in your statement.
