KG accidentally kicked his leg out from under him as he was getting down into his stance.  Looked very similar to what Kobe did to Perk in '10 when Perk blew his ACL.  Not saying that's def what happened here.  But it did look pretty bad.  And his body language was very downtrodden as well, almost like he knew something bad had happened.

KG didn't touch Smith.

exactly. That's why I think it may be a pretty bad injury. The worst one's are when a guy goes down without anyone touching him.

KG didn't touch Smith.

Well, he did kind of hip check him a little bit.

Anyway, even though it would help the Cs out a bunch if he were injured, here's hoping it isn't anything serious. Kobe aside, I would never wish injury on a player, at least not anything serious (and I've always liked Josh Smith, too ... hope he comes to Boston).

KG didn't touch Smith.

He absolutely did.  KG had position under the rim, while Josh had his back to him also trying to establish position.  He lifted his left leg to take a step back, but before he could plant it, KG planted his leg under it.  So when Josh put his foot back down, KG's thigh had lifted his knee from underneath.  This caused Smith's weight to come awkwardly on the leg, buckling the knee.

I have it on my DVR right now, and I've rewatched it 5 times as I typed this.  KG obviously didn't do it on purpose.  But it was a result of contact with his thigh/upper leg.

I'd be surprised if Smith doesn't play in the next game.  If he doesn't, I wouldn't be surprised if he's out for the series

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
He should get suspended for 7 games.
I like Marcus Smart

Didn't they say already it's a knee sprain? I would think he's good to go

It was Bynum who crapped on our championship and hit Perk. KG didn't do much, maybe some contact.

Look, Smith didn't limp off, he didn't do anything until the next attack when he decided to go to the lockerroom. It looked to me like he got angry for losing. He maybe got a bruise or something, jeesh.

He should get suspended for 7 games.
I think this is the first time I've awarded someone a TP.

Even if it's a sprained knee, that's going to make him play more earth-bound. More jump shots, hopefully, and more hesitant jumping in traffic.

What I get from this is that you're very rarely surprised.
