It's cool that he got some points off of free throws, that's great -- but in reality you just tried to say that him making three jumpers and a layup in 40 minutes is somehow impressive. I'm not saying that Bradley isn't going to be a valuable asset to this team or anything like that...he already is. But, RIGHT NOW, TODAY, As a second year player in the NBA, he isn't starting SG material. Maybe he'll hit the gym hard this summer and improve his offense for next season, but it just isn't there right now and it's evident with your argument.
4 buckets in 40 minutes.
14 points only taking 8 shots (12 counting free throws and with just one turnover) is excellent.
Ray Allen averages 14.2 ppg on roughly 12 shots (again counting 2 fta = 1 shot) in 34 mpg.
Is Ray Allen a starting quality offensive SG? Bradley potentially could have gotten a few more opportunities, but when Pierce has the ball the entire time and isn't passing great overall how is he supposed to get more shots?
And when Pierce didn't handle generally it was a post up for KG (or sometimes Bass)
ugh.
We're going to take one game vs. a season average now?
Bradley's splits:
http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/b/bradlav01/splits/2012/
Since entering the starting line up and becoming a heavy rotation player he's averaged 12.3 points in 33 mpg on TS% of .566 taking around 10 shots per game.
You're right he doesn't get to the line much, but he scores just fine as a starting SG. Scoring efficiently from your 5th option is a lot more important than raw scoring numbers.
Which again takes me back to my initial post that started all of this;
He was able to get easy baskets during the season when nobody knew who he was or what to expect...this is the playoffs, competition gets stiffer, and baskets aren't as easy to come by. I think he is going to struggle throughout. If I'm wrong, we can bump this thread at a later date though so I can happily eat my words
