See it four yourself. Bibby loses a shoe on the play and Wade just throws it away so Bibby can't run back on the break right away. Cheap trick.
When you lose, the easy part is to see who gives up. Giving up is very simple. You basically take your stuff and walk away. To continue to work and to continue to compete is one of the most difficult things, especially when you really don't have anything - KG

Why not just throw it in the stands? Or just tuck it in your shirt

Fair game...every player should have that done to them if they still cant do their shoes up properly or get shoes that fit.

Fair game, since when did tossing someone's uniform pieces or shoes became sportsmanlike?

Wade is a dirty player and this just confirms it.

If KG did it to an opponent you would have laughed. Admit it.

Exactly. That was funny when I saw it. And Bibby had no objections to it because he knew it was fair game himself

That's true but KG would do it differently. Wade does it all cool-like because he's in love with himself.

  • We may as well put Tyrion in at center.
If Davis was reffing this game, that'd be a foul...
I like Marcus Smart

Exactly. Wade puts on a big act like he is this great pure player - but he is as dirty as Ron Artest or Andrew Bynum.

Funny move by Wade.

Funnier to me that Wade was more concerned with this gimmick than getting back on D himself while the Knicks team was more concerned with getting a score on the possession.   ;D

Score on that play:

Wade - 1
Knicks - 2
2020 CelticsStrong All-2000s Draft -- Utah Jazz

Finals Starters:  Jason Kidd - Reggie Miller - PJ Tucker - Al Horford - Shaq
Bench:  Rajon Rondo - Trae Young - Marcus Smart - Jaylen Brown -  Peja Stojakovic - Jamal Mashburn - Carlos Boozer - Tristan Thompson - Mehmet Okur

When you are D Wade, giving up a possession doesn't matter. That is confidence in my book...borderline arrogance if you will.

Maybe the same time trash talk became sportsmanlike?  It's called gaining an advantage by any means necessary without breaking a rule.  Now if he threw it into the stands then he'd get a fine, but forcing Bibby to run down the court with one shoe or otherwise sit out the possession is just smart strategy.  Not a cheap trick at all, he lost his equipment and paid the price, Wade just secured the payment.  In hockey nobody's gonna let you just go get another stick while the play is going on.

I think Wade's dirty way more than the next guy does, but that statement was a tad ridiculous.

And for the record, it's not his "cheap trick," he stole it from Artest.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I'm really curious what the rule is though. Could he just pick it up and throw it over to his bench? or throw it down one of the corridors to the lockeroom?

Probably wouldn't get a tech or anything but would you get a fine from the league at some point?

I'm all for this, tie your [dang] shoes... It's Playoff basketball. If someone's sneaker off take advantage of it, especially if it's a clown like Mike Bibby.

Artest did it first (and probably plenty of guys before him):
