Quote
“I don’t want to pre-judge on what the recommendation is going to be,” Stern said. “But as a fan, he obviously bumped him. And you know what happens with respect to that.”

“We have a hard and fast rule,” Stern said. “Unless somebody trips you and sends you into him, nobody touches a referee. That’s the proposition.”

There have been three instances this season where a player or coach has been suspended for a game for bumping a referee.

Well thats it. Rondo is likely going to be suspended. I rewatched the video for like 4 times and it really seems like Rondo tripped before bumping the ref. Stuff like this happen, lets move on and get Game 3!
Jack of all trades, master of none.

I hate David Stern.  He never holds officials accountable.

Sounds like he's going to miss a game, bugger. I was hoping for just a fine....

Whether or not he does something about the officials isn't really related to whether or not Rajon should be accountable.

Good. Will be a well deserved suspension.

Hopefully the guy learns his lesson once and for all, but I'm not expecting much.

Darn... That doesn't sound good at all. Now I'm hoping it is only ONE game

True, I agree that by rule Rondo should be suspended a game.  Like I said, Stern NEVER holds the officials accountable for their actions, though.

and just like that we could be looking at 0-2 hole we might be done

Bradley didn't show me anything defensively that he could slow down Teague or anybody looked rattled in the moment were in trouble  ::)

Seemed that way to me too. I wasn't watching as closely as I usually do, but it looked like Hinrich, Teague and Pargo all had their way with Bradley at times.

It's something to watch going forward. It was the kid's first playoff game, so patience is in order.

I think this is unfair. I few of the memorable streak stoppers on the part of the Hawks had Bradley playing the shooter, namely that last second three by Hinrich beating the shot clock early in the third and Teague's shots near the end of the game, but Bradley played fairly well on defense.

He constantly was causing Hinrich to pick up his dribble. He was chasing guys off the three point line well. And he was one of the few guys hustling back to get back on transition defense in the first half. That Hinrich three where he lost Bradley on the crossover to create space for that last second 24 second shot beater was a great move on Hinrich and excellently played by Bradley except he over compensated on the cross over fake.

Yeah, this wasn't Bradley best defensive game, but I didn't see him getting beat out there constantly, like Rondo at times, or giving up huge numbers to his man.

I seem to remember KG getting suspended after game one against the Heat 2 years ago...The Celtics did great in game 2 and won the following 4 games. Granted they were home for that game 2, but still...let's see how the Cs respond.

We must've been watching different games concerning Bradley's defense.  Not only what Faf said.  But a lot of the shots were contested and off-balance shots.  Pierce, Bass, and Garnett were flat.  But Bradley was decent offensively and excellent defensively.

I look for a win with or without Rondo Tuesday.  They got the bad game out of the way.

4-1

So much for not wanting to pre-judge. He's obviously already made up his mind. I thought it looked like a game suspension and I won't be surprised if he gets 1 or 2 or 3 or none. In the circus that's NBA office anything can happen.

On a related note the officiating really needs to improve. Not just for the quality of the game but I'm sure it will reduce techs and frustration fouls. The extent to which referee incompetence is rewarded/ignored is atrocious.
