I like the idea, just think it was poorly executed.

This screams "Jay-Z has mad ms-paint skills", but when you think about, despite trying to go minimalistic...a professional teams' logo shouldn't look like it was made in MS Paint.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
New york likes old things. These logos look old, and kind of hipster. It'll fly.

Well, Jay-Z can do what he wants, I guess. There was another te will be the team uniform colors as well?

Edit: Here's the other "logo": a redesign by Michael Weinstein:

A one-color logo, that's epic.

As a Designer you've got to love what they've done with it. You could put this logo on a cappuccino with some powdered chocolate. You could make a stamp. You can change the colors without losing its power.

Also, it looks quite retro, and just as easily could've been the logo for an early 20th century high-priced aviator-inspired clothing brand.

I dig it. The fact that they went with black and white makes it even better. Can't wait to see the jerseys.

As for that other logo that's been posted: it looks alright, but as a logo, I think the other one is stronger. The colors, highlights, shading and 3-dimensional effects make it look pretty, but do not necessarily make a good logo.

No, I don't. I was doing a google search a couple weeks ago, looking for the new Nets logo, and found that.

To Kiorrik: I hear what you're saying, but I can't help but agree with the other posters here who think the new logo looks flat/boring/clip-artish. Perhaps even generic, if that's possible for a logo.

I'd even have preferred the Weinstein logo in black and white, minus the ring effect. It would look both modern and retro.

I can see that. Especially when compared to all the other logos the NBA has, this one looks like they didn't have time to make a new one for the guys in Brooklyn ;)

What I like about the simplicity is that, even though I've only looked at the logo for a couple of minutes, I think I can draw it from the picture that's in my mind already.

That, imo, makes a good logo.

I like 'em. If I were a Nets fan I'd love it. Certainly better than the Thunder logos and I remember the negative reception they got on here when they were revealed.
