The captain looked rusty as hell, if you are injured like Rondo and Steamer there's no choice but hopefully we see more guys the next game (in limited minutes of course). You don't want everybody's first time back to be in Game 1 of the playoffs, add to that maybe on Atlanta's home floor.

For what its worth, Atlanta doesent have a home floor, there are more Celtics fans then Hawks fans in their arena whenever we play.

I wouldn't expect that to be the case for the playoffs.

I think too much rest can hurt a team. I'm not sure it will matter all that much for this team though. The starters were starting to look tired after that stretch. I do worry about Ray if he is able to play in the first round. The guy hasn't done much the past couple of weeks. It will probably take him 5 or 6 games to get his game legs back.

I wish we rested even more people, just to give the heat s better chance at the W tonight lol. Im not real concerned about the hawks series, but another loss or two could move our draft position up 2-3 spots, and that's big to me. [dang] pavlovic is just too [dang] good lol

KG asked for the rest because of his hip flexor. you realize that right?  everyone else is legitemely healing their injuries, not just resting.

In terms of keeping muscles working at their optimum, especially in sports, (and where injuries are not a factor), then yes, too much complete rest or inactivity is counter-productive.

If he needs five or six games back just to get game legs he may aswell throw in the towel for the season. Full houses, playoffs, adrenaline....if he's legitimately fit give him a game or two to shake off rust.

Took Ray Allen two full playoff series before he could make a single shot in the 08' playoffs haha. Remember? He was in the "worst slump in NBA history" until the ECF.

You are obviously being sarcastic, but anyway Ray really  only had a poor series against the Cavs where he averaged 9 (which is skewed for one 0 point game). He averaged 16 in first round, 17.5 in ECF and 20.3 in the finals which was kind of an important series (and he led the team in scoring this series).

Not bad for the 3rd option on offense.
