Deng is their best player , Rose is the most athletic ....They can win without Rose , but not so much without Deng .  He is so under rated .  He does everything they need all the time . When he has a monster game they always win.

I still think Rose is hurtin  and its got in his mind and game  too.  I think we are ahead with AB and Rondo right now.   Its how to stop Deng and keep Noah from the 10,000 offensive rebounds and putbacks they get.

What I'd give to have Anderson Verejao counter the Bulls inside quickness in the play offs..
i kno ur thing is to post crazy stuff on here but u cant be serious wit the bolded lol Luol can barely create his own shot and has came up short in a lot of big situations Rose was the MVP last year

The best basketball player on a team isn't necessarily their most vital player.

When Deng is clicking, the Bulls are a much more dangerous team.

Rose is their best player but Deng is the linchpin.

That's fairly below the belt. Please, refrain from such responses where possible, as it has nothing to do with this discussion.

If I were a Chicago fan, my worry would be that they won in the regular season by being a maximum-effort team who crashes the boards and flies around the court on defense.  It's a lot harder to out-effort teams in the playoffs, when every game matters and teams bring it every night.  Most good teams have another gear.  Does Chicago?

I'd put Bradley on Rose - while he's played well at the 2, I think he's most useful when he's allowed to harass the ball, and he might be able to create problems for a less-than-healthy Rose.  Let Rondo guard Rip until they prove that we can't get away with that - I think he has the length and the tenacity to handle the matchup, and I also think he's an excellent defender off the ball.

The matchup of the series, in my opinion, is KG vs. Noah.  KG needs to keep Noah off of the boards.  If he can do that, I like our chances.  If he can't, we'll need a transcendent, series-long effort from Rondo, Pierce or both to pull this out.

That being said, the Celtics can beat them but only if they're playing at the tops of their game for 4 out of 7 games.  Bulls are prone to periods of offensive stagnation and if the Celtics can capitalize in those situations, I like their chances.
I always hear this about the Bulls on here but on that same note aren't we guilty of the same thing?

Considering how frail this team is, I have little to no confidence that we can beat a serious team like the bulls in a series.

I'm still dumbfounded to how we were close to healthy a week or two ago and suddenly there are about 6 players under an injury cloud.

Incredibly annoying to follow a team that can't get on the floor.

Here you go, good sir:

When you lose, the easy part is to see who gives up. Giving up is very simple. You basically take your stuff and walk away. To continue to work and to continue to compete is one of the most difficult things, especially when you really don't have anything - KG

dont you think if it was the playoffs that everyone would be playing?? its the end of the season. every team is banged up and are just resting players for when the real season starts.

anyways,

I think the Celtics can beat the bulls. it all comes down to rebounds. our Bigs/guards have to make a concerted effort to box-out and go after rebounds...one good thing is you know Rondo can average 10boards if he wants to.

depth in the regular season is nice. but I still like our talent of our "big 4" vs who is behind rose

You guys seem to be forgetting - this is a completely different Celtics team despite the personnel being pretty much the same.

It's really not.  The game is still completely centered around the Big Four - the roleplayers have been being substituted for virtually every year of this era

Well I would say the difference is we have more youth and KG is playing at his highest level since the championship year. If he can keep up that offense it really makes us a much betfter teal

I think KG was better overall last year, but not hugely so.

I'm no grammar nazi, but this made me lol.

Im wouldn't say that deng is the bulks best player, but I do think he's the most essential against us due to his ability to lock down Pierce. With Noah matching up with KG and Ray either out or playing below his potential, Pierce will have to shoulder the scoring load. If deng takes that away, we're dependent on Rondos jumper falling.  That might get us a game or two, but we're not going to win a series like that.

This is one of the times I really wish I was more of a Bradley supporter. If he could hit some outside shots and take some pressure off Kg and Paul, everything could open up for us. I'm just not ready to join that bandwagon yet =\
