Hold off voting till we get a good bank of nominees please

Key words here are "in your life time". So I'm sorry, but no time machines, lightsabers, phasers, teleporters, warp drives, etc.

If you saw it on Star Trek, Star Wars, the Scifi channel, the Jetsons, or Lost in Space you can't have it. Yes yes yes. I know we've already surpassed some of those things. You know what I mean. And you sure as heck can't have anything magic from Harry Potter or Narnia. That's a different poll. That's a What Would be Coolest poll

If you saw it in Batman, Mission Impossible, X-Men, or James Bond then you can probably have it.

Also I'm going to stay away from the cure to death/anti aging stuff. That stuff freaks me out at this time.

Also no divine miracles. We're not bringing Marilyn Monroe from the dead for you

Also I'm leaving out things that would obviously be wonderful like world peace, enough food for everyone, cures for all diseases. This is about cool greediness. Not sainthood.

also no cold fusion or perpetual motion machines.

I will add commercial space flights immediately and one hour flights to anywhere. But no intergalactic space ships. I will not have any Captain Kirks or Mace Windus here

Also, my least favorite apocalypse is Robot Apocalypse. Once they gain legitimate intelligence, its over man. They're emotionless logical death machines, and humans are TERRIBLE. Fear the hive-mind!

I'd be content with just trying something. The basic dissolution of NASA disturbs me.

Really? You'd rather deal with horrific disease like in Outbreak, than Terminators? Hmm. I guess we've survived disease before and with simple sterilization and vinyl gloves and hand washing and whatnot we could do ok

Well NASA has some good probe stuff going on. Wouldn't mind seeing some other country doing some spacial heavy lifting for once. Maybe a brit rover on Titan or something. It could be all polite and take a break for tea time

Also some of that stuff on your list is almost here. The Luke Skywalker hand? I was reading an article in I think Popular Mechanics that blew my freakin mind.

Oh come on. How cool would it be to see an Aussie probe on the other side of Uranus blasting "We come from the land down undar!"

I would have thought you'd have taken the 50% light speed engines.
