You sense it and feel it he won't be in Boston next year, he knows it this is his last year in green.  :(

I read the same article, and didn't get the sense that he's gone.

It's a possibility, but not a foregone conclusion.

I expect Ray to return next year ... unless Danny decides he is unwilling to offer anything more than a one year contract. Even then, I'd say there is still a fair chance he comes back.

I'm thinking Ray is gone by KG and PP will be leading the young'uns.

I'm not yet fluent in the nitty-gritty aspects of the new CBA. Is it possible to sign a free agent to a one-year deal that includes a no-trade clause?

im not necessarily sure that ray is gone. its obviously a possibility. but, the celts can offer allen more than any competition.

and if KG/Pierce are back the lure may be too much

I don't think he'd offer more than one year and we all know he'd trade him in a heartbeat that's why I don't think Ray will be here

If Danny brings back KG on a two year deal, I can see him being open to bringing back Ray Allen and others to two year contracts.

Hence my question. A one-year deal with a no-trade clause seems like it should satisfy both sides.

I don’t think Ray has that many options.
most contenders don’t have a lot of money to offer nor do they have a spot in the starting five.
I don’t think he would want to play for a non-contending team.

We on the other hand could offer a reasonable salary on a good team.
I think Ray will stay.

Last I knew, 19 teams are set to be under the cap before the draft in June.

Of those teams, Ray would be an upgrade for the Clippers, Knicks, Magic, Nets, 76ers, and Timberwolves off the top of my head. I suppose the Mavericks could also make a run at Ray, depending on which of their guards they resign.

He'd also likely start in Memphis, where he was almost dealt at the deadline, although I believe the Grizzlies will have less money to offer.

Ray Allen should be able to veto any trade if he was signed to a one-year deal because he would be a Bird free agent.

Nice point. TP. I'm still not optimistic though.

Unless KG goes, then I kind of expect Ray to leave too.
