just for kicks and giggles, how about bringing everyone back with a few tweaks?  (I'm sure this has been brought up before - forgive me)

Starters:
Rondo
Bradley
Pierce
Bass
KG

Rotation:
Ray
Stiemsma
Jeff Green
Chris Wilcox

Developing:
JaJuan
Moore
S. Williams
R. Hollins
Draft pick 1
Draft pick 2

we would need a backup point (again) but maybe one of the draft picks can serve - otherwise it is Avery Bradley in a dual role again

big flaw to this plan: 6 guys developing is a lot - though hopefully JJJ and Moore can contribute more next year

I'm in favor, because I would like to see what this squad can do in a regular 82 game season WITH a training camp, preseason, and normal practice time.

There's a good chance that the Cs will reload this summer for another tun with he Big 3. I don't see any need to retain Wilcox when this team needs a bigger body for the fourth big.

If DA can't land a top FA, he will probably go this route, unless ownership is looking to cut payroll, which is currently top of the league.

Don't see a downside to that scenario at all.

As far as backup pg I think Moore would slide in pretty easily. Good ball handler, doesn't lack confidence,  and is at least respectable on D. He is someone who would benefit tremendously from a full training camp. Worst case platoon Bradley and Moore and back up pg and address other needs.

I love Bass but think he would be GREAT off the bench and if we could slide a legit rebounding PF think it could add a dynamic

No Pietrus or Pavlovic?
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

add one GOOD center and you got yourself a deal.
ideally, moving KG back to PF, and Bass as top guy off the bench.

I love our guys doesn't matter if they are old. This might be our best option. There are no francise players in free agency. Tell me who will replace KG? He can't be replaced, without him we will not reach the playoff. If we don't have defensive presence and leader like KG inside we will be soft team. So bring him back.

Only trade DA can make is package for Josh Smith. Bass+Green+1round pick, If ATL lose in first round they would look to trade his contract so we can make then a good offer this summer we hava cap space draft pick good players.

It's not looking like Ray's ego could handle that, particularly at the salary that might work for the C's.  Also, I don't see Williams and Rollins both here, particularly if the C's draft a big guy and have Wilcox and Stiemer.  There's something wrong if neither of the Boilermakers, after four years of college, can crack the rotation in their second year.

But I think the general idea works.

i mean unless our plan is to trade Rondo + both draft picks for Dwight Howard and then sign Deron WIlliams as a free agent... I think our best option is probably to just bring everyone back until Pierce falls off the books.  You can't really utilize cap space until Pierce's contract is done.  I mean... technically you CAN use the cap space, but by doing so you'll no longer have money to give KG and Ray... and frankly KG and Ray are still probably better than anyone we could sign with our cap space (I'm assuming Eric Gordon, Roy Hibbert, OJ Mayo, etc are all unavailable, because they are restricted).  So it boils down to, "would I rather give Chris Kaman 10 million or Kevin Garnett 10 million?"

Eh, not that excited about bringing back both Hollins and Williams. Would much rather bring back Pietrus, but I guess with Green and Ray off the bench there wouldn't be very many minutes left. Still, I'd prefer getting another power forward over Hollins.
