When you lose, the easy part is to see who gives up. Giving up is very simple. You basically take your stuff and walk away. To continue to work and to continue to compete is one of the most difficult things, especially when you really don't have anything - KG

This was a highly entertaining game. Hawks should be very confident now  ;D. Now I'm switching to Knicks vs Cavs to keep the fun going.

I bet Carmelo's 12 point-outing has got nothing to do with Amare  ::)

I'm good with Hollins. He's active on the floor, getting involved. Happy with that.

This game also is a significant tribute to Rivers. NO reason whatsoever to play tonight. Could very easily have mailed this one in, had a couple of laughs and moved on.

Instead, this group played hard all night. One more scorer on the floor and the Hawks drop this one by double digits.

Doc is a lot better on the bench than he gets credit.
Been saying this for years.

Also, Doc didn't have to do a thing tonight but he was still out there working the refs, coaching the team up, instructing the players, etc, etc.

And his players responded with a phenomenal game. That's what makes Doc so great.

Anyone see that recent survey that showed Doc was the most liked coach amongst league players with like 25% saying they would want to be coached more than any other coach. Pretty impressive.

One BIG thing to remember - in the playoffs, Bradley will be guarding Teague or Hinrich and Pierce will be on Johnson. Johnson won't be able to shoot right over Pierce.

His body of work gets better every year. You can rest assured that this turnaround in the second half of the season doesn't happen if Ron Jeremy - oops, Stan Van Gundy - is on the Celtics bench.

At this level, the players have to like the coach and be tuned in to the coach for anything significant to happen. This is not a coaches' game; it's a player game.

Rivers is one of the best in the league on the bench, and tonight's effort is one clear way to measure it. Some of the stuff he gets grief about - like playing rookies - is just noise, in my view. At this point, if Doc doesn't think a player deserves minutes, that ought to be good enough for everyone.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

He sometimes makes mistakes, but those mistake are soooo small compared to what he's done with this team. He's amazing and deserves The Coach of the Year.

Career high points for Bradley in this game. Hes had 20+ points in the past 4 or 5 games, so I think that trend will continue.

Id hate to give props to myself, but hey? Im a genius.

TP and thanks for the reply! I was surprised the national broadcast didn't mention it at all. Did Mike and Tommy discuss that?

No problem.  :) I didn't catch a stream with Mike and Tommy, I watched the annoying one with that woman from Atlanta. I don't even get it, how she got the job? She is terrible, I almost fell asleep because of her.

LOL I don't think I've heard her before. But if it makes you feel any better, the national broadcasters completely ignored the fact that the starting center didn't play a single second in the second half.

I know how you feel lol. She's one of those who just talk and talk and talk and the game is going on at a fast pace, and she just keeps ignoring it and keeps talking. Awful. I feel bad for the guy who worked with her tonight, poor sap didn't get to say  5 words the whole game.

Just got back from the game. There were more celtics jerseys than hawks jerseys in the arena, as usual.

The funny thing is that I had passes for the teams' shoot around before the game started, and when I got there Bass was warming up. I watched him for what seemed like half an hour, and he missed maybe two shots in that time. I thought to myself: "this guy is going to have a great shooting night tonight." What was it they said about practice?

I missed the part with Bass warming up, but the Celtics fans outnumbering the Hawks fans was unmistakeable.
It's a shame we never took the lead even once during the fourth quarter because we would have just erupted and maybe helped the C's to victory.

Great effort by everyone except JjJ. He looked horrible and has not added anything to his frame. Have to wonder why the C's took when they should have known that he either could not put on weight or does not have the work ethic to do it.

Great performance from mostly 'backups' Bradley was immense. I thought even Dooling (who i am not a big fan of) played very  well tonight. Daniels, Hollins, Pavlovic and Moore all played a good game and contributed. Bass wasn't his usual self and JJJ looked nervous but hopefully he will come good in the end (just not this season).

We should take great pride in the fact that we hung with the  Hawks starting lineup and were unlucky not to take the W. Rondo,  KG, Truth, Allen and Pietrus to come back by the time we meet in the playoffs so Atlanta MUST improve to avoid being swept in the series.
