  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Home court us based in record, not seeding. But we have 4 locked up. If the hawks beat us in Friday, and we sit the big four, I'm pretty sure they'll have home court in the first round. I say sit em regardless. We've avoided Miami and Chicago and that was the goal. Let them get banged up in the first round and we'll finish the job.

IF I were Doc , I 'd sit KG and Paul and Rondo and Bass. I'd let Moore and Triple J play the Hawks .

Id sit everyone excpet Bradley.

Give Bradley the keys to show his game for the rest of the season.

Dude is a beast, and has 30-40 point games in him, hes just so efficient, imagine if he got twice the shots hes gotten so far? Thats 40+ points.

I'd rather see them play and try to get home court against Atlanta.  It just doesn't seem right to give up on a game that has some significance, on your home court, against your future opponent.  I'm not big on messages but I doubt Doc wants to let Atlanta develop good feelings playing in Boston even if it's against a squad that would hardly resemble the full strength Celtics.

I say don't do it. Don't rest them. Play them and at least make an attempt for homecourt advantage.

Yea, this Celtics team might not need it, but why take the chance when we have a real shot to get homecourt advantage?

I say sit everyone except Bradley for the Atl & Mia games and play them all in the Mil game.  No need to give either team a chance to get a good win against us after we've beat them both twice each recently, and made significant statements in doing so.

I'd like to get one practice game in against Mil before the playoffs start.  Just to get everyone back in their rotations and to keep any rust off.

Home court would be nice against Atl, but we should be able to beat them regardless.  The rest and getting nick-nack injuries healed up is more important.

Play them. They need to stay focused. If they really need rest, give them 10 to 15 minutes playing time.

I say we give them each nights off at random depending on position, where if the opposing matchup is weak they could rest. Also they've got to play but just limited minutes 15-20 it's the worse thing to shut them down entirely. Look where that got the Spurs last year, they need to stay in a bit of a rhythm.

If possible, I'd like Doc to use a couple of games to play with the lineup to simulate the scenarios of KG and Pierce in foul trouble.

I can't say "rest" or "play" because they're so very black and white answers.  I think Doc is going to do what is in the best interest for the team to contend as best as possible in the playoffs.  I honestly don't think it's worth it to drain our energy in securing home court advantage only for the first round.  Because if we lose Game 1 at home, then HCA is out of the window just like that.

I'd continue with the starters on the floor in Atlanta and if it looks like we have a real chance to win the game, then let's go for their throats and hope for the best against Miami and Milwuakee.  I think we win the tiebreaker against Atlanta if we end up tied?  But if we're down by 10 in the 2nd quarter...then just keep Pierce, Garnett and Bass warm and fine tuning their engines.  If 20 minutes is all they need, then 20 minutes is all they need.  Give away the Miami game (don't tip them our hands) and the Milwaukee game should be done at full speed to get us ready for the playoffs.

Honestly, if we're scared of going into Atlanta and stealing a game from them, we aren't contending.

Rondo needs to sit because he has legit back issues, and we need him at 10000% for the playoffs. KG and Paul are relatively ok. I'd play at least one of them, but give one a night off. Ray has to play a game or two if his ankle is ok just to get back up to speed.

I think they need to play to keep themselves in shape. Of course, not up to ridiculous numbers like 40-45, but as long as they feel good out there, I can see no reason to avoid playing any up to 35 minutes or so.
But if anyone is uncomfortable with a lingering injury issue, you have got to rest him.
I hope Ray feels better before the season ends and returns for a couple of games to get back into his playing rhythm, which is primarily important for a shooter.

I'd give bass and kg each a night off.

 Both have looked tired lately.

Hmmm..pretty sure home court advantage is up for grabs for Friday night's game. Why on earth would we "rest" our best players in arguably the most important game of the season?
