who wants the gig of being Tommy's stand-in during the away games.  You aren't going to get someone notable, because then it would take away from Tommy.  What if people ended up liking the "away" guy more than they liked Tommy?  Marshall is fine for now.  When the time comes to permanently replace Tommy, I'm sure we'll find someone more notable than Donny Marshall.

It's not about someone notable. Being notable doesn't necessarily mean you're a good analyst (see Magic Johnson and Shaq). Donny just isn't a good analyst. He is as bland as it comes and rarely offers anything of substance.

I rarely post but wanted to sign in last night due to Donny "master of the obvious" doing the Raptor game.  Thanks for addressing the Donny thing.  I actually switched to the nets broadcast this evening so I did not have to listen to his hallow comments.  I wonder if The C's PR people monitor this blog and take our opinions to heart.  I will not sign up for The NBA package if Donny ever replaces Tommy.  He is painful to my ears.

I think he's a nice guy and has decent knowledge of the game, but he just sucks as a commentator, has no personality, and is not a celtic.
