http://www.nba.com/mvp-ladder/2011-12/index.html

Based on the performance of the team, 19-7 since break (best in nba), his assist streak, 19 games and counting (I think?) best since Stockton in '92, the 6 triple doubles on the season, and just the overall impact he's having on every single game. I think Rondo can win MVP this year. I'll put it between him and Durant. I dont think anyone deserves it over those two

He definitely belongs in the discussion. I think it goes to Kevin Durant though, and rightfully so.

No, but it should be considered an accomplishment that he gets votes.

The Celtics are too much of a TEAM to have a player be voted MVP.

Lebron, Durant, Tony Parker, Westbrook, Chris Paul, Kobe Bryant.

These are all names that are ahead of Rondo in terms of the MVP talks.

Lebron and Durant I can handle. Kobe and Westbrook I just cant fathom.

He really should be in the top 5 if not the top 3.

Rondo is by far a better pure PG than Westbrook is.

The sad thing is, Rondo will always be over looked when Durant and Lebron are scoring.

The closest case I can give for Rondo is Steve Nash's MVP in 05 and 06 where he averaged..
2004-2005: 15.5ppg, 11.6apg and 3.3rpg with 3.27 TO
2005-2006: 18.8ppg, 10.5 apg 4.2rpg and 3.5TO

Rondo this year
12.2ppg 11.6apg, 5rpg 3.69TO

Durant
27.5ppg, 8rpg 3.5apg 3.6TO

Lebron
26.9ppg, 7.9rpg 6.4apg 3.4TO

Parker
18.8ppg 7.7apg 2.4rpg 2.5TO

Westbrook
24.2ppg 4.6rpg 5.4apg

and just for S&G's

Pierce
19.2ppg 5.4rpg 4.5apg

Stats for this year. He should defs be up there, doubt he will win it though

I'd love to see Tony Parker win the award, but my guess is that it goes to Durant.  If the Heat keep looking lost at sea to finish this season, I can't see them giving it to James again.

If we get at least one vote each for Garnett, Rondo, and Pierce, I'll be satisfied.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

I can see it, this is "messiah" after-all. GO DURANT if not RR!!!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Durant
LeBron
Kobe
Rose
Dwight
Wade
Westbrook
Parker
Dirk

I think voting will yield those results, probably somewhere close to that order (with Durant and LeBron basically interchangeable.  Rondo MIGHT sneak into the top 10 but I could see either Clipper ahead of him as well as an argument for Johnson.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Rondo has been great, but I don't agree with that article saying Rondo has been the best player on the best team since the All-Star break.  That has been KG.  I think they play off each other, but the way KG has led this team on both ends of the floor, and been absolutely on fire with his shooting has been the biggest reason this team has been so good lately.

I agree with this.

In regards to the MVP, it's a two horse race between Durant & Lebron.

I think, to a certain extent, Rondo and KG's contributions are kind of mirror images of each other. Rondo's individual defense has been great and he's been a disruptive to opposing offenses but KG's defensive contribution makes more of an overall impact. KG's been playing great on offense but Rondo's contributions mean more to the overall offense.

Well, regardless (we don't need to get into another Rondo debate), I think KG's impact on this team would make it nearly impossible for Rondo to win the MVP.  The votes would be too split.

I have to say I agree with this as well.  I think that KG's play has been at least as important to our team as Rondo's, and I am a huge Rondo fan.

I think the MVP is a two player race between Lebron and KD.  Not sure which way I would go since both have had amazing seasons.  I would rather see KD win, but my gut tells me that Lebron is probably a bit better...

I'll hazard a guess that you think it's just as unlikely that Rondo or KG get the MVP as I do.
