Anybody else kinda worried that the Celtics are peaking too soon?  I'm kinda concerned that we're gonna be running out of gas by the time the playoffs come around.

This just reminds me of the 2010 season so much, where people thought we were dead when the playoffs rolled around, some even picking us to get eliminated by the Heat, but we really turned it on and ended up in the finals.  Except now it's not playoff time yet

Peaking too soon with only 8 games left?

If we didnt peak when we started too we probably would have been an 8th seed.

I hardly think we have even come close to peaking... We havent even had our full healthy rotations.

We started last year 33-9 and finished 23-17.

THAT was peaking too soon.

In 2010, Operation Fo'Fo'Fo' was in effect.

Thus, there were key games nearing the end ... like against Houston, where we fired on all cylinders and demolished them.

In other games, we'd decided to mail it in, so that scouts wouldn't observe that we'd turned it around. So all and all, we'd kept a lid on our secret weapon before the post-season. The tractor-trailer was already primed and pumped to make mince meat out of the Heat.

My absolute number one concern right now.

We are going through the toughest stretch of the season...right before the playoffs...but we're already using our 8-9 man playoff rotation.  These guys are going to have no legs left by the time the second round rolls around

On the other hand, it's still been a short season. Based on total games we'll be in game 13 of the playoffs (end of second round at worst) by the time we'd normally be playing game 1 of the playoffs.

With a shortened season, two of their top seven rotation players essentially rookies and two others new to the team, they need all the experience playing well together that they can get.

IMO what we're seeing is ideal.

I wouldn't worry about this. If our legs were going to be a factor, we wouldn't be surging right now. Plus, I don't think we'll see a lot of the starts during the last few games, so there will be a bit of a break for the old guys(sorry KG)

Back to wanting Joe fired.

Yeah the lockout is finally playing a little into the C's favor. Guys are healthy and in shape at just the right time, with just a handful of games left on the schedule.

The first half of the season was brutal as the the new faces and a revolving door of injuries hurt the chemistry of the team. This team is very much a TEAM. They all need to click together on both ends of the court. It is a real joy to see it happen again.

I think that the C's will be able to handle this pounding, especially when the pace of the schedule slows a bit.

To me, the 1st 2 months of this season was like an extended training camp and preseason.

We haven't played our best basketball yet. We have only played our best defensive ball.

TP. Very good point about the training camp / preseason time. I feel good about the run ahead.

We're playing real well at the right time.  There is some slight concern about being able to keep it up from an energy standpoint.

If we can go into the weekend of April 20th with our seeding secured, I'd feel real good about the playoffs.  Roll back or even bench key guys the last week of the season.

Here's hoping the Miami & Milwaukee games are meaningless.

You can clearly tell that Pierce is not taking the games as seriously as he will come playoff time, with the exception of the Miami game.

The tank will be full for quite some time, don't worry.

I'm not sure playing well know has any real impact either way on how we will play in 3 weeks. It isn't an issue of gas.

'Peaking too soon' has no meaning in terms of strategy or predictions. It is only a descriptive term after things play out.
