this free agent class is weak nd the best players are all restricted free agents i wouldnt overpay for anyone in dis class but i'm glad some of yall aint GM's rofl @ givin Jordan Hill a MLE deal when Greg Stiemsma is way better and will come at a cheaper price. I would bring back KG Bass Steimsma nd look at signing Jeff Green every other free agents we have I can see them departing wit it'll be interesting cuz we dont need a complete overhaul to contend but if we can mix youth wit experience we can build a solid team

much rather hill than humphries as he can play the 5

rather him than kaman, cos kaman is awful, TS% of 48% for a center with 5 TO's per 48 minutes

camby not worthwile getting cos his on the DL 80% of the time.
Humphries averaged a double doubled last season wat has Jordan Hill done besides underachieve he cant score cant rebound nd is a horrible defender its no coincidence he's been on 3 teams in 3 years he's barely showed flashes. Gimme Anthony Randolph ahead of Hill

I would love to have Ersan Ilyasova on this team. He is a big man who can score, rebound, and play decent defense. He can hit the three and stretch the floor, and he's young.

I'd give all our picks for JSmoove.

Resign KG at the 5 and have Josh play the 4.

that would only work if Atlanta liked who we drafted because we don't have cap space of any kind until after the draft and then only if we re-sign everyone or give them up.

Hill has a higher %TRB than humphries, however both struggle defensively, nets give up ~110 points per 100 poss while humphries is on the court, ~114 per 100 while hill is on the court, both awful, but hill is younger and taller, offensively they are about the same, humphries takes more shots but his playing with d will. I rather sign guys with better upside that are taller, younger.

Wait so the nba year doesn't start until after the draft? If we traded someone during the draft the numbers would have to match up with  the 2011-2012 salaries?

Isn't it easier to have a higher true rebounding percentage in short minutes? The nets are worse than the rockets. You should compare humphries' on the court vs on the bench defensive numbers not hill's vs humphries, that skews the numbers towards a better team

just realised that the c's to match any offer for greg the c's will have to use cap space or the MLE cos they don't hold his bird rights(like the jeremy lin situation). If they use cap space you can say goodbye to using anything more than the room exception on a free agent unless you let one of kg, brandon, allen or green go. The c's might be able to kept around 2 mill of the MLE after signing greg which in that case i can see a hill or randolph signing here but not a humphries or kaman for that amount, and i rather the younger players.

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I'm on board with Ilyasova. It'll be a tough one though. He's on record that whoever offers him the most money will the team he signs with, NBA or Europe.

Brandon Rush if Ray does not resign.

I'd give Hasheem Thabeet a low end 2-3 mil. one year deal. Like I said, defensively and rebounding he has potential to be a good player.

The NBA year starts after the draft.  However, it is not unusual for teams to agree to a deal and have to wait until after the July moratorium before they can make it official.  You will also see teams draft for another team and then trade the draft rights of the player to that team because they aren't allowed to trade the pick itself if they have traded next year's pick away.

Unfortunately, almost all of these players discussed are going to go to sub-par teams with cap space that will massively overpay them.

Celtics will sign low-risk, high-reward deals or sign short-term veteran deals to keep cap space for 2013.

They will look to develop JJJ, Bradley, and their first round picks for the future.

Thabeet knows at this point that he'll be lucky to be in the league. Minimum or nothing for a player like him.
