This is basketball 101. If Rondo loves to crash the boards, the other guard needs to defend against the break.

And why are we worrying about a small SG crashing the boards? There are big men who are already closer to the rim.

No one back to defend break is easy -2. Crashing the boards still makes it unlikely we even get a rebound, and even less likely that it leads to points.

Would you rather have the other team run out on the Cs, or a 6'2" guard bang the offensive glass?

Since the Cs are the best defensive team in the league with AB in there, I vote for Get Back On Defense.

Guards shouldn't be crashing the offensive glass anyways.  He's doing the right thing.
do it

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I think you'll find that he does this when an outside jumpshot or three point shot goes up.
Doc is terrified of teams like the Thunder and the Heat burning us on the fast break (no pun intended). They way a lot of teams have crushed us is by grabbing the boards and sprinting up the court, trying to play a fast paced game. By the fourth quarter we are exhausted. He makes AB run back for cover because he can run all game and then throws Ray in at the end and hopefully AB's presence at half court prevents a lot of 50/50 fast break opportunities and helps us keep our legs fresh for the fourth.
Seems to be working to me.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I personally don't think its much of a problem. I mean I've seen him do it once or twice but it doesn't bother me. He hustles on defense and occasionally goes after rebounds. His offense is finally coming around so I can't complain

Bradley's poor rebounding is actually the only thing I've really be bothered with in his recent play.

And the biggest reason I don't want him playing SG long term for the C's. He's currently tied for 76th of 80th among SGs at defensive rebounding rate.

The number is probably slightly skewed downward because he does play PG for some of his minutes (all of them early this year), but any way you slice it he needs to do better on the boards.

One rebound every 11 minutes from a SG hurts, especially on a team where there are boards to be had.(and thats when he's starting, as a reserve he's rebounded worse)
