This idea is from a Hornets' blog:
http://www.hornets247.com/blog/2012/04/07/looking-to-the-future-veteran-nba-prospects/
The suggestion is that they get Rondo, Bass (sign and trade) and our 1st round picks for Greivis Vasquez and two lottery picks (currently around the 5th and the 10th). The blogger suggests, that the Hornets pick Barnes and Rivers for the trade, but it could be anybody.

The Hornets would have a very strong, young back court (Rondo and Gordon could be a great fit).

The Celtics could look into getting Deron Williams or (a better option imo) Goran Dragic, who is emerging as a legit starting point guard and is an UFA this summer. He has been signed to a MLE, and I don't see him getting more than 7-8M $ (maybe even less).

In stead of Barnes/Rivers, we could possibly get Bradley Beal and/or Tyler Zeller, if that is what we want.
The Hornets have other assets we might want to look into (Okafor is overpaid, but we would be having a handful of rookie contracts to make up for that).

I'm not saying, that I would do this, but I find it interesting how Rondo is valued by other than Celtics fans.

I'd do that. I feel like Dragic has been a legit starting PG since he backed up Nash.

Rondo's one of my favorite players but that seems like a win-win.

Depends on the lotto picks. Top two picks? Meaning we'd have the top two, plus our other two? Sign me up.

End of the lotto? Absolutely not

If it involves us landing Anthony Davis and another top 10 pick then yes. Anything lesser than that, id pass.

It would be awfully tough to turn that down. One of my biggest fears is seeing this team end up somewhere in the middle of the pack year and year.

If we're not contending, what are we doing with veteran win-now players?

Not the point here, but Zeller is currently seen as a top 12 pick on the mock drafts Ive seen (Chad Ford, DraftExpress, NBAdraft.net). Beal is the best sg prospect, and there aren't that many good shooters out there. Chad Ford has him going at no. 3.

Rondo effects the game much more than any player other than Anthony Davis in this draft.  So if we aren't getting Davis I don't see the point of trading Rondo. He is clearly already a top 15-20 player in the league , you don't give that up unless you are getting a stud on both sides of the ball.

Rondo is ridiculously good in just about every area besides free throw shooting and long range jumpers. Still only 26 and under a very good contract for the next few years. Build around Rondo!

Here's a better question, would you trade Rondo and both 1st round picks for Anthony Davis? I would have to be getting at least a 2nd back too ( which would be a high second round pick from the team that traded Davis for Rondo)

Giving up two picks and the best player in your team to get Davis and a 2nd rounder? I don't think that's the way you rebuild.

I just don't know anything about college basketball and always have little knowledge of the draft.

So I have no idea what to expect out of the draft besides Davis would could be a stud.

If Danny can guarantee us getting 2 all-stars I guess I'd consider it  :P

Rondo is one of the 5 best players to come out of the 2006 NBA Draft, and looking back that draft had some talent. Roy, Gay, Aldridge, Rondo, and Bargnani are all All-Star type talent. I say if Rondo is one of the 5 best player in his draft, and his draft was good, he is worth a top 5-10 pick in a "deeper" draft.

But I'm not trading Rondo for a pick.
