This idea is from a Hornets' blog:
http://www.hornets247.com/blog/2012/04/07/looking-to-the-future-veteran-nba-prospects/The suggestion is that they get Rondo, Bass (sign and trade) and our 1st round picks for Greivis Vasquez and two lottery picks (currently around the 5th and the 10th). The blogger suggests, that the Hornets pick Barnes and Rivers for the trade, but it could be anybody.
The Hornets would have a very strong, young back court (Rondo and Gordon could be a great fit).
The Celtics could look into getting Deron Williams or (a better option imo) Goran Dragic, who is emerging as a legit starting point guard and is an UFA this summer. He has been signed to a MLE, and I don't see him getting more than 7-8M $ (maybe even less).
In stead of Barnes/Rivers, we could possibly get Bradley Beal and/or Tyler Zeller, if that is what we want.
The Hornets have other assets we might want to look into (Okafor is overpaid, but we would be having a handful of rookie contracts to make up for that).
I'm not saying, that I would do this, but I find it interesting how Rondo is valued by other than Celtics fans.
