Jermaine O'Neal out for the year and Ray Allen sidelined with an ankle sprain has rejuvinated the way we play, KG is faster then most centers, and Bradley and Bass are both young athletic guys who speed up the way this team plays.

Bass and Bradley arent afraid to shoot, if they are open, they take it. Bradley is always trying to make himself a part of the offense and shoots whenever hes open, making wild cuts to the basket, and running the floor.

No longer are we watching team spend the full shot clock waiting for Ray to run around and come off 5-6 different screens, still not have a clear shot, and have to pass it to someone else or turn the ball over.

We no longer have to stomach watching Jermaine O'Neals rusty corpse hopping down the floor with rusty non-oiled mechanical legs, worried about which screw just came loose whenever he takes a charge, and watching his engine struggle to start on offense.

I love this new team! We havent looked old and slow since these two guys went down and Bradley and Bass stepped in to fill their shoes! It could be a blessing in disguse, and judging from the reactions of our players after each win, the team likes its newfound style of play.

Maybe we didnt need a trade, maybe we didnt need to blow it up, maybe all we had to do was mix it up. Infuse youth into our starting line up and see where it got us. So far, I like what I see, and the team looks rejuvinated and far from old and slow.

You might be right.  And if so, it's a shame we couldn't get a young player or two for Ray Allen during the trade deadline before we end up letting him walk for nothing in the offseason.  Supposedly there was a lot of interest, but our asking price was just too high.

Waiy till doc reinserts ray in the starting line up and we would be painfully old and slow again executing doc's favorite hide and seek ray allen offense.

I thought Doc was going to do this coming into the season especially it being a lockout with the hectic schedule turns out he was just forced to and it's a blessing in disguise.

This is what I was trying to say since our slump. Mix the vets with youngsters so we can run with athletic teams.

Athletic guards who pressure can run a mini fast break.  KG at C really helps us.

this is it. the main difference is that we no longer spend half our possessions running Ray around in circles trying to get him a jump shot.

As they are playing right now, only two of their top six players are over age 26.  Also, only one is under age 26.

Hopefully the team remains as it is lineup wise. Ray is still important though for chemistry and for late game shooting.

health

kg is beating centers with speed
avery is the first guy to keep up with rondo on breaks (while he is dribbling)
pp seems to be in full swing, love his extra rebounding lately, its a huge thing for team
bass is healthy
rondo has been playing at high level and cut turnovers

if this team danny assembled stayed healthy who knows how many titles

agree on ray in corner waiting for ball and/or running around picks - doc either needs to implement some different plays for ray or maybe have ray off the bench
in no way is bradley anywhere near the player ray is but our team has a new look, the defense rondo & bradley can put on opposing backcourts is great and oh yeah our first wing guy off the bench is one of the greatest 3 pt shooters ever

ray & mp healthy for playoffs  :o

is it bad that i genuinely love the JO bashing haha. when we signed him i threw up in my mouth. my first words were why did we just give a bum 5 million dollars... gotta admit though but the absence of ray has rejuvenated this team. i really dont want to watch ray run around the court for 16 seconds and still have nothing, terrible offense ! it goes against everything doc has preached, MOVE THE BALL

I think its more on Rondo than Ray. Rondo has been playing great the past 10 games or so. If ray comes back and Rondo plays like this we will be extremely dangerous. If he comes back and just watches Ray run around and around I just think that's on Rondo.

Its amazing how well bradley works the baseline without the ball. He is good for two or three of those back door baseline cuts a game. Also his ability to slash to the middle and move without the ball i think has been huge for this teams recent surge. With Allen in the starting 5, we often get stagnant and there is no movement what so ever, especially because Ray is just looking to run off screens and get out by the three point line... I like how we attack the basket more and get the ball moving more with Bradley at the two slot.

When Ray's running around other players are setting picks for him to get free. It's hard to run one play when 3 players on the court are busy running another.

Ray expends alot of energy looking to get his shot, but not so much energy (like AB) pushing the ball upcourt and looking for the fast break.  Ray can play decent defense, but not the smothering type that AB plays that uses up the clock and forces turn overs, poor shot selection, hurried plays, or expired shot clock periods .

AB + Rondo, doesn't all the offense to walk the ball and stagnate, or everybody stand around and wait and watch Ray Allen try to get free for a shot.

If I were Doc , I would even experiment with a three guard Offense for those times when the other team looks tired or to shake up the game to motivate the team. AB and Rondo moving the ball at the same time, might free up Ray for better looks.
